Princess Royal Hospital in Farnborough, Kent?

I had 2 as their shifts crossed over. They were called Mel & Katrina, really lovely as well.

Do you live near the hospital?

i had two as well but never got the name of the first one, was only there for 3 hrs before having him so everything was a bit of a blur.
i used to live nearby in biggin hill but have moved a bit further away but i would definitely return there for any future babies. are you nearby?

I got to PRUH at 4:30am & had Jack at 10:05am - went so quick :)
I live in Keston so not to far.

ah yeah i know keston :) im living in shirley at the moment so crossed the border into croydon. i got there at half 5 in the afternoon and had him at half 9, went a lot quicker than i thought it would lol

Blimey, thata was a v quick labour :)
I know Shirley - I used to live in Sanderstead & work in Croydon.

hehe i was in labour pretty much all day and the night before but could deal with it at home it only became a bit more painful by late afternoon so thought i would go get checked out and then a few hours later he was born. did you have to stay in long after your little man was born?

Oh really, hehe.
I was told that I would be discharged around 4pm but due to an error regarding someone coming round to see me, I didn't actually leave until 11pm. So annoying!

wow you're lucky you got to leave the same day even if it was stupidly late! i had leo on a saturday and didn't leave till tuesday morning was soooo glad to get discharged lol

I don't think I would've been able to cope with staying in PRUH that long. I've got a fear of hospital & literally had to beg them to discharge me. They wanted me to stay in for one night - if i'd known how late i'd be discharged I think I would've stayed though as I was so exhausated from the labour.

My best friend had her baby there in December, she was in the new birthing centre & loved it. She can't speak highly enough of the staff & facilities.
We were both originally queen mary's sidcup patients & had to choose between pruh & queen Elizabeth, woolwich. She chose pruh & I chose the QE unfortunately :( I wish I had chosen pruh too.
Good luck xxx

it was my first ever experience of being in a hospital so i wasn't keen on staying but because i had to have the placenta taken out in theatre they kept me in for 2 nights and then another night cos he wasn't feeding and the woman that does the discharge meetings wouldn't let me go until he had 24 hrs of formula. definitely want to be out quicker next time lol

I'm planning the fastest exit my birth will allow me, and have a Consultant appointment at 36 weeks where if all is well I will be fighting for the birthing centre!! xx

hehe don't blame you for wanting a speedy exit, last thing you wanna do after having a baby is hanging round the hospital lol :)

Want my hubby to be running around after me at home instead. :D:D xx

lol sounds like a plan! my partner decided to pick up glandular fever a few weeks after my little on was born so he didn't lift a finger to help for over a month!!

24/7 - are you going, or have you been, to the Preparing for Birth or Breastfeeding evenings at the PRUH yet? We went to the first one tonight and it was quite good. We're going to the BF one on Thurs night. x

No, I'm not going to any of them. I have been very disappointed with my care and can't face any classes there at all. xx

Oh that's a shame - what's been happening?

echoing the wanting to get out the hospital quickly..... I had a homebirth and still ended up having to go to the PRUH to get his checks done as they couldn't get a paed out to me and I was abandoned after 1 day, no more checks considering my bubs was born at 34.1 degress which is hypothermic! then the MW had the cheek to tell me it was my fault that they didn't come out as I didn't give them my contact details.. urm what do we give at our booking appointments?! and they had my notes. We saw them sitting on a window sill in the room they did the checks on D! talk about confidentiality! lol!

Just thought I would pop back and update after giving birth at PRUH last friday, and say it was an absolutely amazing experience with the most amazing midwives and would recommend it to anyone. I have come away with memories of an amazing birth, made absolutely perfect.
