Private early scan

I have an early scan on monday when I will be 5 weeks 5 days, Since I know I won't see a heartbeat or even a fetal pole, will they ask me to come back before 12 weeks? As if not I need to book a private scan as I can not wait 6 weeks to see if it will be a viable pregnancy, I will go out of my mind with worry. Thanks.

I would ask if you could come back in weeks 8/9, if they refuse, then you have some time to arrange a private scan...

It's actually quite possible you'll see a fetal pole and maybe even a heartbeat at 5w5d (though of course it's not anything to panic about if you don't), but I think whether or not they'll have you come for another scan really depends on the clinic. Can't hurt to ask though!

Thanks guys, I will ask then if they can't, I'll start booking a private one.. It's £100 for one in my local hospital so hoping they choose to give me a later scan :L

I think they'll ask you to come back in a weeks time if they don't see a heartbeat to reassure you. Hope so xx

You might be able to see something at 5wks5days but don't panic if you don't!

I seen healthy Gestational sac and yolk, measuring exactly the right dates. Going back in 2 weeks to see if we can see baby and heartbeat
