ok, keeping this short as I really should be getting ready for work right now.
I hope you ladies can give me your opinion on this.
A brief bit of background...
I suffered a missed MC in October 09 discovered at 14 weeks 5 days. My baby boy was measuring between 10 and 12 weeks but we had had a scan at 12+1 and saw him kicking away with a strong heartbeat. The scan was because I had had a really heavy bleed as well as pretty much continual spotting throughout the pg. (I now think that the heavy bleed may have been the loss of one twin but that is an entirely other story...)
I am now 9 weeks pregnant again and feeling pretty good about things... no spotting at all, pretty constant MS.
Visited Doc at 6wks. She told me I could contact EPU to arrange an early scan. Consultant at Hospital had told me the same thing at my 6 week check after the MC.
Called EPU to arrange but they told me that they only offer this within the first 12 wks and only if the scan will be after the point that there were problems the last time so NO they couldn't do anything. They told me that the scan would not reassure me. Excuse me but WTF do they know what would reassure me or not. They have never met me!! Person I spoke to just advised prompt contact with midwife. Although Doc had told me she would contact midwife for me I had waited so long last time for my app to come through that I called midwife directly. She advised an early booking appointment.
Anyway... 3 weeks on and I still haven't heard about appointment. Everyone I tell about the pg asks if Docs and Midwife etc are confident about this and looking after me well, they can't believe I have not heard anything yet.
FRUSTRATED!!!
So booked a private scan next week at my own expense.
Now I'm worrying it will be bad news. What if it's another MMC?
I would rather know sooner than later which is why I booked the scan but... and this WILL sound mad... I'm going on Holiday the week after next and feel that if it's bad or inconclusive news my long awaited holiday will be ruined!?! I could go on in relatively blissful ignorance for another few weeks and find out after I've had a nice break...
Should I cancell the scan?
