I'm TTC #1 and on CD2 of cycle #12. AF is always very short and light for me, she lasts for 2 days max with a few days of spotting afterwards. My last cycle was the first time I've charted and my luteal phase was 12 days and sometimes I get spotting a day or two before AF shows.

I mentioned to someone that I think the reason we can't conceive is due to my lining being to thin and not strong enough for implantation to happen, and they mentioned using progesterone cream, but I have a few questions about it:

• Is it safe for me to use progesterone cream even though I've not been officially diagnosed with a thin lining by a doctor?

• Are there any side effects of using the cream?

• How do I use the cream (i.e. When do I start using it, how much should I use and where do I put it)?

• Will it start to thicken my lining in the first cycle I use it or will it take a few cycles to take effect?

• Is there anyone who has used the cream and successfully got pregnant?

• Where can I buy progesterone cram in the UK?

• Has anyone tried any other methods to thicken their lining which were successful?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! Thanks :) xx

Lol not sure you should, but ive self diagnosed low progesterone as well. I ordered natural progesterone (emerita) off of amazon. Ive read a lot about it and have more then just one sympom though.
My biggest side effect is the headaches.. In the am i dont seem to get them but in the evening i get a nasty headache about half an hour after putting it on.

You start using it after confirmed O so im not sure what you are doing to confirm. Use it until you start to bleed with af.. If you do then stop using it at that point. If you dont get af, test at 14 dpo if negative then stop use and let af come. If positive, you must continue to use until 12 weeks pregnant. If you stop use, you risk miscarriage as progesterone maintains pregnancy for first 12 weeks.
With emerita you use a dime size dollop twice a day and can rub it anywhere.. Stomach, thigh, arm etc

Last cycle was the first cycle I used it. If you use ff to track bbt, wait until you get crosshairs to start use. When using ttc it works month by month.

Great that's really useful! Thanks. I use OPKs and last month started taking my bbt so confirming ovulation is not a problem. :)

I also read raspberry leaf tea can help strengthen the uterus/increase lining. Do you think it would be okay to drink that as well as using progesterone cream?

I havent tried it. I take b6, its suppose to help lengthen luteal phase so im assuming in some way it helps with progesterone. Just make sure if you take it, you are also taking a multi vit and take the b6 in the am otherwise you might not sleep

Another self diagnosed case of low progesterone here! I was using progesterone cream during my last pregnancy but miscarried at 8 weeks so this time TTC I am using Angus castus as well. It's my first cycle with the AC and the first time I haven't had several days of brown spotting at the endof AF. Don't know if it's just a coincidence. I use Serenity progesterone cream from when I OV, it's pricey but I read good things about it. I plan to take AC for my whole cycle although I know there is conflicting advice about that.

I bought some with my emerita but havent started it because im seeing a specialist in august and i dont want it to alter my blood work. But i did start spotting on the cream last cycle... Not as bad as before though

Do you spot before AF or after?

Thanks ladies.

I feel a bit more comfortable trying the cream out now knowing I'm not the only one who has self-diagnosed low progesterone! :)

At the moment I usually spot for 2 days before AF, she last 2 days and then I spot for about 4-5 days after.

I'm hoping the cream will stop the spotting and lengthen my cycle. FX'd.

What does Angus cactus do?

Xx

I spot two days befor, have heavy af for one and a half days then spotting or two.

But its the spotting before thats concerning because it means your progesterone has dropped and your lining it starting to shed

I only spot after but I read that brown bleeding at the end of your cycle can also be a sign of low progesterone. I also have a tilted uterus so I do think blood pools and doesn't always come out properly which could also explain the spotting but I never had it before having children.
Angus castus is meant to naturally raise progesterone and lengthen your leuteal phase if it's too shirt, which mine isn't as it's around 15 days.

I had a thin lining. And i literally wrote this two years ago. They put me on estrogen 1.25md twice a day cd7 to cd14 to thicken the lining and it build it up. It worked first month.

I started it again last month.

Also I took l acetyl and l Arginine supplements they also help thicken the lining.

Yes I have a retroverted uterus too.. My dr didnt think that effects anything though, only being able to find a heartbeat on an US

Thanks Claudinator! Was AF short & light for you too making you believe you had a thin lining? Did you spot before/after AF?

I have booked a Docs appointment for Saturday so will see what they say. Guessing I'll have to wait a couple of months for a referral though so I will try the progesterone cream in the mean time.

You dont technically need a ref, a reg fam physician can do the blood work.. It just has to be done on specific days during your cycle

My periods were so light two or three thin panty liners over two days. This was over 9months and every month they got thinner. So I went for monthly ultrasounds from 6months to see if I was ovulating, which I was but they discovered my lining was really thin. And if your lining is thin the egg has nothing to hang on too.
They were going to start an ivf cycle but a young American doctor said he didn't think it was as complicated and they gave me Premarin (estrogen) twice a day and It worked. Progesterone is only good if your pregnant sometimes they give it in early pregnancy or ivf cycles to prevent miscarriages.

I found the supplements L acetyl cysteine and L arginie great aswel. They both help with lining also try acupuncture.

Yes I have my first acupuncture session tomorrow and will be having weekly sessions to see if that helps. Thanks for the info, I'll look into the supplements. X
