Progesterone Cream?

Has anyone used this? I do believe I have a progesterone deficiency and would like to see if I can balance it naturally. I'm running into a slight problem though, I read that it's very important to get cream that is formulated specifically for infertility and pregnancy (since you're suppose to continue to use it if you're pregnant.) However I'm not too sure what those brands would be. I don't want to buy the wrong thing and potentially hurt a pee pod if there were one.

Thanks for any help!

Hi Dream,

A friend of mine swears by progesterone cream to help with pregnancy. She used it for two pregnancies (age 39 and 42) and got pregnant the first month both times! The cream she used was called Wild Yam, or it was derived from wild yam (I am not sure, exactly). I found one from iherb.com that is from wild yam and also have lavender in it. I haven't gotten pregnant yet, but I can tell it really helps with my hormones! My skin looks better, my hair situation is better, and I feel better. So, I'm going to stick with this one and hope it works out for me, one of these days!

Well, I hope this is helpful to you. Good luck!

I tried progesterone cream for about 6 months, and in the beginning it really helped. However, it stopped working after just two months and it's not even worth the money to buy it anymore. I was using Emerita Progest, and you can get it on Amazon. I think the issue might be that if you use it wrong it can seriously unbalance your hormones. I think I went from progesterone deficient to progesterone dominant while using it. The upside to taking doctor prescribed stuff is that they can monitor you while taking it to guard against something like this happening. Just be careful, the stuff works for some and not for others and could give you the opposite effect if not used correctly!! Good luck.

Thank you girls for the help! I have read that you can get the dosing wrong with the cream, but I figured I'll just start low and move up that way. I've read all over that progesterone taken orally doesn't help at the same rate the cream does because it can't be absorbed as well- so you end up taking far more by mouth than through the skin. We'll see I suppose- I don't mind slow and steady so I guess I'll give it a try for a month or two. Thank you!

Hi

I use progesterone cream although it's not made any difference to me or my cycles I have carried on using it in hope it does start to work.

I know lots of ladies who use the cream and find it fantastic, helped with numerous symptoms and brought on periods, some of them found it shortened their very long cycles.

I brought mine from a website called WellSprings, the cream is called Serenity. It was recommended by a fertility expert.

I forgot to add that a good way to get the dosing right is by putting your little finger in to the cream up to the first knuckley bit, below your nail. Massage it in to fatty tissue, so areas like your tummy, bum cheeks, thighs. You must alternate them, so tummy in the morning, bum in the evening, the next day thighs etc. You can also add a smaller amount to thin areas, like your wrists, temples.

Thank you! I'll have to look into that brand. I'm hopeful that it will work for me. I've had 5 (confirmed) early miscarriages and I have a large feeling it's because of progesterone. I also have PCOS and have extremely long periods. Although with as many symptoms that are the same between PCOS and progesterone deficiency I wonder if the one isn't exaggerating the other. I did read about switching areas- basically like the BC patch. And also so that fat doesn't deposit in one area from prolonged use. I've pretty much read everything I can find on it, but finding a cream that works for normal periods and then that is safe to use during the first trimester of pregnancy is my biggest concern. I know some are not good for the later.

Hi

Do you know what the wellsprings is? I typed WellSprings into Google but it's giving me about a 100 different sites and I'm not sure which one is right. lol

The website is wellsprings-health (sorry, I have no idea if websites are allowed so thought I'd make it simple lol)

As far as I'm aware it's the best cream to use. It's recommended to use it for 14 days and then have a 14 day break, in that time you should have a period, if you don't have a period you then carry on after the 14 day break for 26 days, if you have a period you return to the 14 day cycle, if not carry on with 26 days.. I hope that makes sense!

Your very welcome

Good luck with it, I really hope it works for you

xx

Thank you! I do too. And I hope it works for you as well! Good luck=)

Well sadly I cannot use WellSprings Serenity even though it sounds amazing! They don't ship to the US anymore =( boooo.

Hi Dream,

Here is the one I ordered: https://www.iherb.com/Now-Foods-Nat...al-Skin-Cream-Calming-Lavender-3-oz-85-g/7922

As I said, I felt like it did wonders for my skin, hair, and mood! It can't say it's helped with ttc yet, but maybe if I ovulate it will...

Well, let us know what you do and how it works! :hugs:
