i just started progesterone suppositories today (1 twice a day). this may be tmi, but after a few hours of taking them, i have all this glue like cream on my underwear. obviously its the suppository that has dissolved, but should it be coming out like that? am i not putting it in far enough or something?? Any advise or similar stories appreciated. i just want to make sure im using everything right.

also, im wearing estrogen patches...im supposed to wear one for 3 days. i put the first one on this morning, but the edges are already not so sticky anymore. i mean, is it going to stay on for 2 more days?? help please!!!

Well, I can only speak from my experience as a kid when my mom used suppositories frequently when we got sick. They make a mess. I'd say normal.

Goos luck!

yep, a mess. I wore a panty liner when I used them. Are you laying down after putting them in? I laid down for about a hour with my hips elevated, but I still had some come out when i got to moving around. My ob said that was normal. I'm on the oral progesterone now.

I didn't use estrogen patches, but was wondering if you could tape them down with something like duct tape of even bandaids that are waterproof? I don't know if that would work, just wondering.

The thing I don't like about the progesterone is that it can give you pregnancy like symptoms, so try to not obsess and symptom spot if you can (easier said than done, I know). Good luck, hun.

Thanks for the replies ladies. That makes me feel better.

Scout, i dont lie down afterwards. I dont have time! haha i mean... i guess i could do one right before bed or just sometime in the night when im lounging. I'll figure it out guess! And i actually thought about getting an oversized bandaid to put over it too. im going to try a different place next time. the directions say i can put a new one on if the old one is becoming unsticky..but they only gave me enough patches for the 14 days, so i dont have any extra. Anyhow...thanks again for the replies!!!

Hi Ladies -Question about progesterone suppositories and charting (bbt).

Scout, I noticed that you are charting while taking progesterone supplement. Do you think the progesterone affects our bbt?

p.s. HI LW!!!!!

I used only progesterone cream. And yes, when I'm under progesterone my temps are higher.

I haven't used them but could you put them in and use a soft cup to avoid the mess and to keep it all in?

Tupi- what are you reasons for using progesterone cream. I'm thinking of starting it tonight as my temps are on the lower side (I'm 4dpo).

Yes, i think it would. That's why I wait until i get my 3 consecutive highs after ovulation to start taking it (so that I know I ovulated and it's not just the progesterone). So when my numbers go up and think the progesterone plays into that so I don't pay much attention to them. Except this month I had a triphasic chart so I think my own progesterone shot up too and it wasn't just bc of the supplement. If it was just the suppletment then my numbers would be a bit artificially high but would say around the same bc I take the same dose. When they shoot up that's a combo of my own and the supplments. if any of that makes sense. I do know too that when my own progesterone drops, the supplements don't keep it way up there. yesterday I was still taking it and my temp dropped to 97.3 and then today I got AF.

I don't really know how much the progesterone will affect our numbers and i guess it also depends on how much you're taking (I'm not taking that much) but I do know that it has to just because progesterone is what causes temp rise.....sorry if i rambled I'm realy tired.

I took progesterone on my own .I hoped could help with implantation.

Helena Lynn... i have never used a soft cup before. ive never even seen them to buy! but id does sound like a good idea and it would make me feel like im getting ALL the progesterone i could get! haha i might try to look into that further! thanks for the advise :flower:

HI MrsCompass :hi: how have you been lately? Any new news? Are you taking progesterone as well? this stuff is a pain :growlmad:

I saw you live in Tennessee....you can buy softcups at Wal-mart. They are with the tampons and at my walmart (in TN) they were on the top shelf and I kinda had to look for them. good luck. I know they keep the spermies in there cos I used them last cycle, so I'm sure they'd keep the progesterone stuff in there too.
