progesterone to stop bleeding? advice please

So its been 8 weeks since my natural miscarriage and I haven't stopped bleeding. I met with my family practitioner today and she mentioned the possibility of starting me on it. I really want the bleeding to stop...and I also want to ttc again soon.

Can you tell me what your experience has been with progesterone supplements after miscarriage? Or with excessive bleeding in general? Is this something I should push for?

Hello, I mentioned in your previous thread that I was put on progesterone as well, although in my case it was to start bleeding. I can only give you a general overview of my experience. I was on it for 10 days and it did what it was intended to do: it not only started AF, but it regulated my cycle as well.

I imagine that you will probably have similiar experiences. Most of the things that I have read about progesterone has been positive. My AF came on the 11th day, and I imagine you will probably stop bleeding soon afterwards as well.

Terissa-the neat thing about the progesterone is like pansorie said-it helps to regulate your body meaning if you need to stop bleeding, it should help you to finish the process but if you're needing to start AF, it can help you do that as well, after I started taking the progesterone to help with my bleeding after the MC I only bled for a couple more days after maybe three days after but I believe the first day I took it may be the second was the day that I ended up passing the rather large clot that I had mentioned before and I really think that the progesterone aided in that because my OB said that sometimes any tissues that are left over will clumped together and form a larger clot and I really believe that the progesterone help my body to finish the process.
