hello.. im new to this site but would appreciate any advice that can be given, this will be my 6th pregnancy 5 of which resulted in m/c but recently found out that i am pregnant and have been given a higher dose or folic acid, 75mg of asprin and 400mg of progesterone. Has anybody else had these an had a sucessful pregnancy?? im abit sceptical, cant eat, sleep etc.. its a constant worry im driving myself mad!!

My doctor put me on prometrium 300 mg after my mmc when I found out I was pregnant again, It helps the hormonal levels to rise and thicken the lining of your uterus, take it. And Try to relax :)
Congrats hun:hugs:

Hi hun,
After 3 losses I was put on progesterone, coming up for 32 weeks now - still waiting to cross the finish line of course - however extra progesterone can't hurt!
Sending lots of strength your way...

I had one little boy followed by 3 miscarriages, I was then put on the same as you (Apart from a higher dose of folic acid) for the next two pregnancies and carried my second and third boys to term. Good luck :) :)

Hi Ashleigh, after 4 early m/c (following the birth of my daughter, when all was well) I took the progesterone for the first twelve weeks and am still taking low-dose heparin in this pregnancy, now nearly 25 weeks, fingers crossed.

Think the key thing to remember with the medication is that it can't prevent certain kinds of losses (e.g. due to genetic abnormalities or ectopic pregnancy), but might help with others (e.g. hormones, blood clotting issues).

Hope it works out for you.

That's a great point. I think the majority of 'progesterone doesn't work' stories on the net stem from doctors not stressing this point enough when prescribing the progesterone.
