I am so proud of my brother and wanted to share this link with anyone who may be interested in reading it. He became profoundly deaf when he was 7 and has lived with it for 33 years believing he would never hear again. A couple of months ago he had a cochlear implant and it's changing his life.

His journey was filmed for a news item. He is not an attention seeker in any way but, up until this year, he had never heard (excuse the pun!) of cochlear implants. He is now keen to raise the awareness in the hopes that other people may experience what he is experiencing. He has done so well in life, exceeding many expectations, and I am immensely proud of him.

Amazing!!! xxx

Awe- he's got such a supportive sister! Kudos to you both- and to him for sharing his story! Amazing

Thanks ladies.

He was, of course, a horrible older brother a lot of the time, he used to irritate the life out of me! His deafness was never a big thing for me as a child, I was 2 when it happened so never knew any different. As an adult I can appreciate what he, and my parents, had to battle through to get him where he is now. He's worked very hard!

Aww that's amazing! He's done so well! :)

If anyone is interested, part two (video) is now available right at the bottom of the page on this link...
