I haven’t had a period since November last year (I have PCOS and I’ve put weight on which stops my periods). We started TTC on 1st May. I spoke to my GP yesterday and she has prescribed Provera to induce a period so that she can test my hormone levels on CD 21. However, last night and this morning I have had a bit of spotting. I don’t know if this is potentially implantation bleeding or the start of a period. My periods don’t usually start with spotting, it’s usually just full flow straight away
So my question is, do I hold off on taking the Provera just to be on the safe side? My GP said make sure you’re not pregnant before taking it. I have done a test this morning and it is negative but if it’s potentially implantation bleeding it would be bad to take the Provera wouldn’t it? My thinking is do I wait a week, don’t have sex in the mean time, take a pregnancy test in a weeks time and if it’s negative (and I haven’t had a period) then take the Provera? Or do I just take it now?
Any advice would be massively appreciated
