i am looking at a budget of £4,000 for our wedding, so looking for venues which are easy on the pocket lol... not sure if should hire a hall or there is a lovely pub near my MIL's which has just been redone very nice and lovely upstairs private room where u can have a party... not sure if thats even suitable or an i being silly? was looking at community hall but also not sure if suitable?

Ours is in a converted mill which is a waterfront bar!! They have a ceremony room, function, private courtyard and it is just gorgeous. It's much more "us" than a fancy hotel or suchlike and all our guests loved it when we told them x

that sound amazing, how much is that skinning you?

We are holding ours in a pub not far from us. Its a gorgeous pub so means we get decent pictures stood outside and the function room is gorgeous and really roomy. Prices aren't bad either and means we can put the money we have saved not using a fancy hotel on something else. x

Is it a total £4K budget or is that just for the reception?
Our reception is in a Hotel. We are serving a 3 course meal to 70 adults and 8 kids. Each adult gets 2 glass of Fizzy wine and 1 bucks fizz. Then there is 2 bottles of wine on each of the 8 tables. Then there is a night do with disco and DJ. A buffet to feed 100 and the total for that and room hire is £3200. Obviously there are things you can cut out like providing free wine. If you actually write everything down it's amazing how you can budget and what you can get for your money!
I think a function room in a pub or resturant would be perfect and you can make it as formal or informal as you like!

sounds really nice hun, wish there was somewhere like that we could use.

its £4k in total not just reception. not sure what we're going to do yet, want something nice but cheap, got time to think about it so.

I think a pub or a hall is fine...it's your wedding so can be done your way. Do whatever you feel happy with, aslong as you enjoy it there is no problem :) x

thanks for advice still completely confused about what or where we want it. least we got a date lol.
