I am 22 weeks today and don't remember experiencing any softening or pain in that area until my daughter was about ready to come. Now I am feeling lots of weight way low down and pressure on my symphysis. I rode my bike the other day about 4 miles because I sit WAY too much at work and have been getting foot cramps at night, and walking is crazy-boring to me (I like to jog or bike ride for exercise), and I am still in pain from it, so no more bike for me :( :( :(. Anyone ever experience this so early on? I am worried it means baby wants to come early, but he/she seems so happy and normal in there right now that I feel that I may be being paranoid. Should I go get checked out, or is this normal? Any cardio suggestions that aren't boring?

yup me! I had it with my son around 30 weeks, and this time it started creeping on from 20 :( Apparently it gets worse with subsequent pregnancies!

I'm off to physio tomorrow, but its pretty much a "tough it out" attitude from my hospital :(

I feel your pain (literally lol)

Yes, mine is starting already. I can't remember how early it started with my son, but it got very painful where it hurt to sit or stand or walk, pretty much anything. I'd get a really sharp pinching pain anytime I switched positions and was sore pretty much the rest of the time. This pregnancy it started at 20 weeks. I'm hoping by some miracle it won't get as bad this time.

Yep, that's exactly where I'm at right now! Okay, I feel better now. I'm just not excited about it, LOL! I really want to be able to ride my bike, but I think that stretched out my pelvic floor, even though I have an extra wide seat with no nose sticking between your legs. I'll have to research more and see if there are even better seats than that...

:hugs:

this time around, it hit at 15 weeks - i was furious! :haha:

i have found that swimming laps (but NOT breast stroke!!) helps with the pains that you get as a result of SPD (like lower back/leg) - doesn't help the actual pelvic floor, though. i can't imagine trying to ride a bike - ouch!! :hugs:

SPD kick in about 24w last time.
Ive had sore pelvis since 15w this time, no way id ride a bike with this.
