Hi, I need advise! My lo is 3 weeks old and feeds beautifully, she is a little guzzler and has put on loads of weight. I have a problem with my left breast, it has a large crack that is not getting better or any worse but is uncomfortable, this breast is also a nightmare for getting very full and hard and painful, my right side is absolutely fine. Im considering pumping from the left only and feeding from the right so dh can take a couple of the feeds and I can be comfy again.

Has anyone done this? is it possible? if so how often do I pump from this one side?

Thanks for any help!!

hmmm well i guess it would depend on what ur routine is like.
when dd was that little i normally fed one side per feed. so in that scenario, i would pump ur sore side prior to when bub is due for a feed and then give it to bub (in theory that is, my babe NEVER took ebm from a bottle/sippy cup/straw etc).
are u doing anything to help heal the crack?
lansinoh? airing boob? expressed milk on it etc? sounds horrid u poor thing!!!

saying that, a lot of people will say not to feed babe bottle under 6 weeks due to nipple confusion... just something to weigh up xo

Thanks for yoir reply my routine is one boob per feed the advice iv had is to start before 6 weeks or lo may never take the bottle but before 4 wks could cause confusion perhaps I will do as u suggest and pump when I'm due to use left side tho my milk is slways ready that boobs always full! I'm using lansinoh and airing my boob after feed and rubbing milk in but the crack is really wide open still after 3 weeks :(
