Putting it off

There is a family history of a heart problem in my family (in the girls mostly) and it is so serious because a few members of my family have passed away because of it.

Now i was meant to go an have a check up when i was pregnant but thought there would be no point as i was pregnant they couldn't do any tests so any hoo i book a new appointment and (running out of excuses not to go) so i just didn't turn up

The reason i do it, i am scared. Scared because i know there is a high chance i have got it because when we went for our first check up (me, my brothers, sisters + cousins) and only me + my cousin were told me had to go back and turns out my cousin has got it and is now on tablets everyday for the rest of her life and had to have an operation on her heart (can't remember the name but if your heart stops it automatically helps you come back)

I got a new appointment for the 10th of October. i really really don't want to go, i am really scared xx

i don't know what to say...but you know you've got to go to the appointment? get someone to go with you, tell them ow you feel! i have my fingers crossed that you get the all clear

Ah was it having a pacemaker fitted? Hun I would just go, if not for yourself but for your little boy to ensure his mummy is around for a long time

You've got to go eventually so you may as well go to this appointment. If you don't I'm gonna come up there, hunt you down and deliver you to the hospital myself! Jayden definitely needs his Mummy to be around.

Im sorry hun I know its scary but if you dont go theres a chance there could be something wrong and something could happen to you

I know it can be scary but you need to do it for your sake and for your lil boy. When i was 19 i started getting heart pulpatations and feeling really tired and short of breath alot i was so scared to go see about it till one night it really scared me so off i went to the hospital they sent me for a heap of tests and found i had a extremely large hole in my heart which had been there since birth and never been picked up and i had given birth twice with no signs whatsoever the hole was so big that my heart was pretty much missing the wall between each side of the heart usually holes are tiny and close over shortly after birth or never cause a real problem mine was the size of a matchbox. it was a huge shock and i was referred to a specialist who assured me i should be fine for a good 10 years before he thought my heart would start really not coping and they would operate then. after that i had 6 monthly apointments just before my 21st birthday the right side of my heart had inlarged to almost double its size and i was straight away booked in for open heart surgery to repair the hole it was a very scary experience but i am now healthy and had a baby just under 2 years later and i'm just glad it was found in time and that i'll be around along time yet please get checked and if you need to talk PM me take care xxxxxxxxxx
