I'm just starting to switch from bf to whole milk. Our Dr said ds should have 16-25 oz of milk a day. But he eats a lot of cheer and yogurt so does he need that much milk in addition to that or does cheese and yogurt count as dairy meaning he doesn't need to drink that much? Plus I'm still keeping his morning bf for now

Here the recommendation is about a pint a day of milk or the equivalent for toddlers (which is about 16 oz), or about 2-3 cupfuls. But yes, any sort of dairy counts, including milk in cereal or cooking, as do non-dairy foods like soya yogurt or almond milk if they have added calcium. Plus, I'd be inclined to count that morning BF as well as surely she'll still be getting nutrients from you as well.
