Hi all! Hope all ladies and bumpies are well :flower:

Just a quick question - If when I have my 38 week appointment my cervix is dilated to 2cm, will the midwife be able to perform a sweep?
This is my 4th bubba, so I assume that my cervix will do the same as my last pregnancy and be 2cm at 38weeks (although I could just be wishful thinking!:haha:)

I'm asking because I have GD so they may want to induce me at 38weeks anyway, but I am not allowed the gel or the drip because of my previous section. With my last DD, I had a sweep and 2 days later I had my baby :D (although she was born at exactly 40weeks) and I would prefer to try and get things going with minimal intervention (if that makes sense!)

Any advice/opinions welcome!!

Thanks xxxxxxx

I would assume so, as long as you are dialated. I asked the doctor to do a sweep today and she tried but she couldn't because I have not dialated at all and she couldn't even get her finger in there! She said she will try again in two weeks (I will be 39 weeks then), so hopefully it will work.
