We give our baby a couple of bottles of formula a day next to breastfeeding (I almost feel like I have to defend myself even though I know it's perfectly fine to give my baby some formula!). Sadly she's a colicy baby and really struggles with a lot of tummy pain. We've tried exclusive breastfeeding and it doesn't make a difference.

Now I've picked up a tub of Aptamil comfort because I saw it could help babies with colic, but my husband spotted that it says: 'For bottlefed babies' on the tub. While the normal Aptamil says for babies that are bottlefed or par breastfed. So now I'm wondering, can I use Aptamil Comfort for my baby or should I stick with the normal Aptamil? I don't want to give her anything that'll make things worse or something that's no good for a part breastfed baby.

Sorry if I seem a bit clueless :dohh:.

Comfort is for babies with colic and constipation. You can use it alongside BFing - I did for a bit. TBH, use whatever your LO likes. In the end I had to try several formulas to find one that Erin liked - settled for Cow and Gate 1.

Your LO is still young and what you have said is common - have you looked into baby massage for colicy babies? Have a search on You Tube - I found the massage and leg actions very good for colic (which is bascially trapped wind). Or try some gripe water? That can be given with FFs or after a BF and helps release the gas. There are other meds you can give too, but I found gripe water the best. As she gets older her stomach will get stronger and she will get better at bringing up the wind herself.

Good luck huni:flow:

Thanks for the advice!
We've got some Gripe Water now. Still trying to figure out what the best way is to give her this.

I will look into the massage, that sounds like a really nice idea :). It would be nice to get rid of her wind and tummy pains quicker than we can now. It's just heartbreaking when she's in so much pain!

Thanks again :flower:!
