Question about the Tomy Momma Non-Spill cup

Hi all,

Someone gifted us the Tomy momma non spill cup and I've gone and thrown away the box without reading the instructions!

As it is (new out of the box) nothing is coming out from the spout when I experimented and sucked on it. I look on the underside of the spout - inside, and found the clear rubber valve. I took that out and closed the bottle again and now the water is coming out freeflow, which obviously doesn't seem right.

What's the right way to use this sippy cup and what should I do with the valve inside?

I dont have one but if you click the link you gave above, on the right hand side of the picture it says 'instructions' click that & the instructions are on 2nd page xx

Thank you KayBea! That page doesn't tell me how to use the valve. I'm not finding it very intuitive - I'm like, what the hell do I do with this?!
