Question about urine test for protein

I went to my 24 week check up the other day and after the appointment, I saw on the after care sheet that my protein level was 100 mg/dl from the urine dipstick test. Perhaps I should have never looked online, but it seems like this is a really high number from just the dipstick test. Does anybody have any insight about what's normal for this test? I know that protein in the urine is a sign for preeclampsia, but I did not have high blood pressure. I have had an intermittent pressure near the right, center of my ribs, but my doctor that might just be something with my stomach.

I'm probably just needlessly worrying, but the result seemed kind of strange to me. I sent my doctor an email but no clue when I will hear back and was hoping someone on here might have some insight or experience in the meantime.

Thanks!

I'm sure if the number was cause for concern your Dr would let you know right away. I don't know what's considered high but I do know google has way too many scary stories ..lol

They would tell you if there was a problem. I have tested high for protein before, but early on (12w), but they said it was probably just contaminated with discharge (yak), so they weren't worried.

Hey there hun, i'm sure they will keep an eye on it. When I was pregnant with both my dd's I had 6+'s of protein. That's a worrying high number. But I suffer with pre-eclampsia, eclampsia & hellp. I don't think they get concerned unless it's about over a plus of protein also accompanied by high bp & swelling. Gd luck hun xx
