Hello all! Ok, I need some help from anyone who might know. Ok, so I started first round of clomid this month and also first cycle of temping and fertility friend. So I got a positive OPK on Saturday (CD18)and Sunday(CD19) and will test again in a bit to see if it's still positive. But my temp dropped on Friday and has been back up Saturday, Sunday and today?! So FF says i'm 3DPO and that I ovulated on Friday?! So why the negative OPKs until Saturday and Sunday? Help please anyone?!

when you say 'back up' do you mean it went back up to where it was before the dip, or went up like an ovulation rise? maybe you want to post a link to your chart so we can take a look and see if it really does look like ovulation...
I have heard some women on bnb talking about getting a positive opk after ovulation on clomid, so it is possible.

Thank you soooo much for your reply Brooklyn! I am just so new to this stuff! I think I figured out how to post my chart in my signature...can you see it?! I'm not sure what an ovulation rise would look like or mean as im so new to charting and FF.

Hi! yes, I can see the chart....It does look like an ovulation temp rise, but it's hard to say since you don't have other months to compare it to (you start to get a sense of your average coverline and what temps are typical for post ovulation). I think FF sees a .5 degree or more rise that is sustained for three days as an indicator that ovulation has occurred. But it is interesting that you got all of the ovulation signs and the positive opk after....
But looking at your chart, looks like you bd on the right days if O happened when FF says it did, so you're covered. Maybe keep going with the bd for a few days just to be safe?
Good luck! Check out the clomid symptoms and clomid club threads, there's a lot of helpful information and lovely women on those threads.

Thanks again so much Brooklyn!! I appreciate it! I will definitely check out those threads!

Just thought i'd let you know that last month i had exactly the same. My temperature chart shows i ov'd on cd18 but i didn't get a positive opk until cd19 and cd20. My dr did tell me that the opk's can be a bit unreliable on clomid.

I do wonder why they show a surge in LH after my temp has detected ovulation. Does anyone know why this would be? I think i might do a bit of research on that.

Good luck. I hope you timed it right!

Oh gosh thanks so much MillieMoo!!! Makes me feel so much better! But I did figure out with the help of a wonderful BNB friend that I was off on my temps saturday and sunday because i took them a few hours later than normal....so hopefully my temp stays up now!

there is a thing somewhere on ff that converts late temps xx

Clomid can affect OPKs, but not that late in the game... AFAIK. Everything I've ever read suggests that it can affect OPKs while you are still taking the doses through possibly about 3 days after your last dose. After the 3rd day post-Clomid dose, your OPKs should be back to normal. It only affects them because the pills artificially make your body produce extra LH and FSH temporarily. Once that effect is over... OPKs are fine. I'm not sure what would make the doctor say that it could show your + OPKs after O. I mean, I know it can happen... but I don't think it's Clomid related. Just my 2 cents!

From looking at your chart i'd say you OV'd on Sunday using your temp and the OPKs. Only 2 more high temps will confirm it tho :)

Thanks so much Megg and Vici!!!! I appreciate your expertise tons!!! I'm finally starting to get the idea of what's supposed to be happening and it's all thanks to you great people here on BnB and especially Megg33k! She is a lifesaver!
