Question for the clomid girls!

I've been taking clomid CD5-9 for 4 months now. I'm in the tww, but I am wanting to change it up next cycle if I don't get a BFP this month.

Would taking clomid days 3-7 make me ovulate sooner? What real difference do days 3-7 compared to days 5-9 make?

hey..this is my first month on clomid but I have googled that taking it cd3-7 makes u ovo lil earlier...my doc has asked to take it from cd2-6 infact....my periods are irregular...if u already have a period of 31-33 days but u r not Ovo might be thats the reason y ur doc has asked u to take it cd5-9...as u might Ov on cd19-20 and will have about 12-14 days for ur next period...Hope this helps a bit...
I guess u can change it to cd3-7 and that shd not harm u really..

Thanks! I wouldn't change it, except I need to at least attempt an earlier ov, because hubby is going to be gone around the time I should O if I was doing 5-9. Either I try to ovulate early, or I let the month be a bust.

from what I understand the earlier you take it the less mature the egg is and the more you are likely to pop out. x

hi....i started taking clomid oct 09.....after my 3rd cycle taking it resulted in another BFN i assumed it just wasnt gonna get us our BFP & we started the ball rolling for iui in may 2010.....i had a lap & dye on 3rd feb, nothing found but to our shock we got our BFP on 20th feb!!! that was our 4th cycle of clomid!!! dont give up hope of the clomid working....i was thinking about either upping the dose or changing the days i was taking it but sooo glad i didnt!!! good luck & im sure u will get a BFP very soon!! xxxxx

I've been taking it for days 3-7 for my past 3 cycles and ovulated on CD15, CD18, and CD17 (still waiting to confirm this last one). I've read that taking it on days 5-9 is supposed to lead to higher quality eggs while taking it days 3-7 is supposed to lead to more eggs. I can't find any data on this, just that its what I've heard.

I wanted to switch to days 5-9 on this last cycle but chickened out - don't want to do it without the doctor telling me to since I'm afraid that any deviation from what they want me to do will result in them not wanting me to try again their way before moving on to another method/test etc.

I'm takimg clomid days 5-9 and I'm on my second round. First one didn't work. Have you had ultrasounds to look at folicles?? Just curious because that will help you know if it's working and when you should ovulate. You might even want to ask about having a trigger shot. Good luck!!
