Question for those who have switched from BF to FF

Thats fab and how are you feeling about it now?

I went from bf to ebm to ff as Seb was a hungry baby.
I started with giving him Formula at bedtime than one during the day and just slowly increased it. He certainly more content with formula.
He had breast milk for up to 6/7 weeks so a good start i say :-)

Am feeling much better, still slightly guilty (ridiculous I know ) but he seems so much more content :) I have found I am leaking more in the night though - a virtual flood last night  so think i might need to express a bit more!

I had to sleep on a towel for a long time. I went to every other feed and boobs adjusted quite quickly. Didn't express either. Don't feel guilty - your happy == Happy Myles!!

I think I might not bother expressing, thinking about it won't that keep my supply as it is rather than reducing it according to what Myles needs for half and half feeds?

I'm not good with expressing as I never did it sorry. But also when using formula and breast I had to feed Isobel from both breasts per feed otherwise it wouldn't satisfy her.

Only on really hot days, or had a temp. She's now on water/juice twice a day because of weaning but not purely on formula.

i know where you're coming from with the guilt of switching to formula from breast

Tegan is 2 weeks old tomorrow and i only managed to breast feed her for 10 days, then it got too much for me, it was hard when i was trying to sleep and she wanted feeding constantly during the night

i've had 2 nights so far with her on formula, first night was an absoloute dream, managed to sleep loads so did she with her only waking up twice for a feed, whereas last night it was return of the hungry sicky baby! i think she guzzles too fast now

but i'm so glad i'm not the only one who's felt guilty for stopping or thinking of stopping/combination feeding

i was gonna combination feed until i woke up at half 5 yesterday morning shivering with a sore right booby, got a bollocking from the duty midwife and was told to choose which method i'm gonna feed her by!

i'm glad that i managed to feed her for her first 10 days of life, but i'm gladder still that i've gone to formula and can hand her to someone else to feed so i can actually do things, like go to the toilet at night!

We are doing ok so far on the combination feeding, :) I bf all night and two or three feeds in the day and he has two ir three five ounce bottles at the moment, he has only been sick a couple of times, once was my fault cos i tried a faster flow bottle instead of the breastflow ones! My milk supply is still good, i haven't been expressing cos i find it too time consuming! We have both just started with thrush but gonna try and bf through it like last time, will go to docs Monday
