OK girls question for you, I have my HSG booked next Tuesday and I am feeling a bit nervous about it already. I am wondering about just going on my own as I don't want DH to have to take time off work. Is this wise ? would you go on your own or did you go on your own and then regret it. I only live about 20 mins from the hospital so it's not a long drive or anything. My DH said he will go with me if I want but I am not sure what to do ?

How did you feel afterwards ? did you have much leaking.

Also: Typical timing as it will be CD12 for me on day of HSG and now that I am back on Clomid I normally ovulate around day 12 !!!!!!!!! arghhhhhhh so question is could I BD straight after ...that evening or next day. Is that OK or am I supposed to wait a few days and then miss out. So frustrating as I dont want to waste another 4 weeks.

What would you do ?

I went with dh but i was ok, i had to jump on a train tight after cos my nan was ill, not ideal but i coped. A little leakage its nice to be sat down which u will be able to.

I would bd as soon after as u feel u can, i did the day after and it was sore but dh was gentle :hugs: i did get preg that cycle so good luck. XXX

dh came with me, which was nice for the moral support but not necessary in terms of driving me home etc - I would have been fine.
He won't be able to come in the room with you - don't know if that will affect your decision. I had very little leakage and they gave me a pad so no problem at all.

I was gently to give trying a miss that month - but discounted that advice on the basis of advice on this site.

Hey Puddleduck!

Just wanted to say good luck for Tuesday! I think it will be quite nice to have someone there for moral support!

xx

Good luck puddleduck for next Tuesday! Just wanted to say that I had my HSG two weeks ago and was also anxious about going by myself as DH was working. Turns out there was nothing to it - there was no need for him to have come! I appreciate that some women need the moral support and having googled HSG before I went I was crapping myself but luckily it was pain free for me.Just like a regular smear so don't fret too much. I did take two nurofen just before the journey to hospital - I like you live about 25 miles away so maybe that helped I don't know. I leaked a lit but had already taken a pad ready in my bag. I would definately pounce on DH if I were you for a bit of :sex: provided he was gentle and you're not in too much pain.

:hugs:

Hey lovely, I went with my mum, who sat there and had a cuppa tea whilst i had a doppler up my who ha! It didnt take very long atall, but I guess it was nice to have someone there.

I have kinda one leak afterwards, it was just like a load of cm coming out, but i would advise wearing a pad. Good luck xx

Hi Puddleduck!
The pain level varies between people, but I went alone and felt fine to drive afterwards. They said that a few people have a lot of pain, but my experience was that the procedure was uncomfortable but not unbearable. The worst part was the catheter and dye, but it only took a few minutes. It felt like bad period cramps. I was told that I could TTC as soon as I felt like it. I had some spotting for a few days, but only needed to wear pantyliners. I hope your procedure is quick and painless! Good luck...

Hi, I went with my mum and it was nice for the moral support although tbh it was over very quickly with least amount of pain/ discomfort. Hope all goes well!

I went by myself.. I was very nervous! They stick a catheter into your cervix and release dye into your uterus and it flows out of your fallopian tubes into your stomach. It felt very crampy at the time it happened, and I "bled" the dye out for several days. (tmi)

Honestly, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It was mostly just uncomfortable. I'm very surprised that they are doing this so close to ovulation...

My doctor made me have one on my last day of menstruation because she was scared that I could be pregnant before the HSG... Make sure you dont do the BD before your HSG to be safe!

Good Luck! If you do have any kind of blockage, they say that an HSG will help!
