Anyone taking this? My box says 5 mg folic acid but it also contains magnesium and other b vits.
I think it is causing me to O early - cycle day 11/12 rather than my usual 13/14.
Anyone else taking similar and notice this?
Thanks:flower:

didnt want to R & R! Although I dont have experience exactly of what you are talking about. I do agree with some vitamins messing up your cycle. WHen I took Pregnacare Conception, they completely messed up my ovulation. It was late, early, I was all over the place. I no longer take it,I just take plain old 400 mg (i think) of folic acid.

I'm taking 5mg but because i had a deficiency, this is the first cycle of taking it though. Haven't been doing opk's or bbt this cycle so don't know about ovulation but it seems to have lengthened my cycle though? Which i'm guessing means i ov'd later than usual..

Thanks for the replies:flower: I am taking the vit for celiac so need to keep with it. I suppose as long as it does not move my O too early, like cycle day 9 or 10 it is ok.
Lupin what is your normal cycle length?
I was a 29 cycle day girl. I am still the same length, only my O date seems to have shifted.

I see, my cycle length varies but it is mostly 29 days although i have had the occasional shorter and longer cycles. Maybe your theory is right, will check it out over the next few cycles because i usually o CD16, will be good if i do o earlier because in my understanding the longer your LP the better. :)

Gingersnaps my friend took 5mg rather than the 40mcg in normal tablets because she had a previous stillbirth caused by spina bifida. It didn't give her any side effects except toilet trouble. She now has a healthy 5 month old.

I'm interested that you say you take it due to coeliac, I'm also coeliac so I'm wondering if I should take higher dose. My friend keeps urging me to ask my doc for them as we ate both older mums, but I haven't so far, I think I may now as you e pointed this out.

My gyno recommended it. The ones I take have other b vits, I think to counteract the high dose of folic acid. i think of it as a cautious preventive measure, as we are at higher risk for deficiencies. Definently ask your doctor about it.:flower:
