Questions about starting provera/clomid. please dont r&r!

Ttc #2 for 1y 10mnth. Ok so today I am on cd81. I went to the doctor on cd69 and said he wanted to bring me in for an ultrasound then start me on Provera to make AF show up and then Clomid bc I have stopped ov'ing. I went in last Thursday (cd76) for the ultrasound. I didn't see the Dr tho. Was told he would call me after he looked at the u/s. I haven't heard anything since. My questions are:
1) How long should I wait before I call him back?
2) Did you have to have an ultrasound before starting Provera or Clomid?
3) How long after your initial Dr appt/ultrasound were you prescribed the meds?

He also wanted to get my blood work results from my previous Dr to see what all she tested for. But that should've all came back by now too. He sent the release form to her almost 2 weeks ago. I mean seriously, how long does it take to reaf lab results and look at u/s pics??

I also had a pelvic ultrasound on Thurs (11/14) and called on Monday for results Dr. got back to me on Tuesday. Yes my pelvic u/s was to check things out before I started Provera. I already had the rx and was just waiting for results from u/s to start it. Started it yesterday!

Hope that helps. Now I have questions for you:

1. Is this your first time on Provera?

2. If not first time how many rounds did you do? (My dr. wants to do 4 rounds but take it for a month skip a month then take it again)

This is my first time. I don't have the RX yet. My sister was put on it but she never had an u/s. Idr him saying anything about how many Provera rounds but he did say he won't do more than 3 rounds of Clomid. If no baby by then, then I will be sent to an infertility specialist (nasty word!). I called and left a vmail for the nurse or Dr to call me back. Maybe he will call my RX in. Most girls say they wish AF would leave but now that I don't have her I wish she would come back! Lol idk if its normal or not but after so long w/o her I get to where I stay crampy & bloated feeling.

id ring back today and then every day after xx as I think you have to pay where you r so I would be on the case all the time xx good luck

I was just thinking the same thing today when I was a teen was so happy not to get regular AF but now here I am taking meds to get her to come back....not sure about the crampy bloated feeling...also bug the heck out of the dr. it is not right to make someone wait and wait on results.

Thanks ladies. I called the Dr and spike with his nurse this morning. She acted like the u/s was all I was having. Said "it showed a small cyst but nothing really to be concerned about. He wants to see you again in 3 months to make sure its not bigger" I'm like ok...and the Provera/Clomid?? Lol so he prescribed the Provera (took my first dose tonight) and still waiting for my lab results from my previos Dr before he prescribed Clomid. FX I can get it soon and get this show on the road.

I read down the thread and see you spoke to the nurse, but I typically only wait a day or two because I am impatient, lol.

This is my first round of Clomid and yes, I had to have two ultrasounds before he started me on it plus TONS of blood work. They took 19 vials of blood in all. He had me do an ultrasound a few days before I was due to start AF to see if I had ovulated that month on my own (which I did) then I had another ultrasound on CD14 to see if I was ovulating when I was supposed to be (I am not). I have another ultrasound on Monday (CD15 on a new cycle) to see if the Clomid made me ovulate at the right time.
3) How long after your initial Dr appt/ultrasound were you prescribed the meds?

About 2 months, because he wanted to track my cycles to make sure I needed the Clomid for sure.

Wow that's a lot. My Dr only mentioned one u/s. I'm hoping he isn't planning on making me wait that long. I'm ready to get this show on the roll. Lol I'm also very impatient and this 2 years of TTC is KILLING ME!! I will have to have a c-section again (where I live vbac isn't allowed) so I'm seriously considering asking if they can just take it all out while they already have me opened up. Lolol but seriously...I'm ready to have my kids done and over with so if I do end up having to have a hysterectomy, like every other woman in my family, I wont have to worry about not being able to finish having children.

I know this post is about provera and clomid but has anyone on here tried just provera and got pregnant? Also how about metformin any expreince with that? with or without provera?

I was wondring the same thing since I'm not positive I'm gonna be put on Clomid.

Hi Lhatch,

Ill let you know anything I find out about the two. Also going to put a call into a cousin who had severe infertility but now has 2 beautiful children. Pretty sure she had experience with both.
