Hi Ladies,

I hope you are all well and going to having success with your treatments.

I just have a quick question.

I am going for IUI on Tuesday 4th Nov '08.
I was on Clomid from CD5 - CD9 and
eustrogen from CD3 and must continue until tomorrow CD12.

I am meeting my wonderful gynea at his surgery tomorrow late afternoon for my injection to kick start ovulation so I will be ready for IUI on Tuesday.
Up until now I was thinking it was Lutenizing hormone he is going to inject me with, but is it infact HCG? Do any of you know?

My last little angle was concieved with IUI but was lucky enough that time around not to need any medication.
(Unfortunately he didn't make it past 14w1d)

If in fact it is HCG, how long will it stay in my body?
The reason I ask is that I am sure I will be dying to POAS on 10DPO and I don't want to get my hopes up over a false positive.

Does anyone have any advice please???

I believe HCG can stay in your system for up to a week. If you have enough PG tests you could watch the positive line disappear to confirm the HCG is out of your system, and then you'll know for sure when you get your positive a week or so later.

good luck for tuesday.

xx

It is HCG that you will be injected with.
I was the same, didnt want to get a false positive so i got a load of cheapie tests and tested from 5dpo to see the positive line dissapear then when it came up again i knew it was a true positive (although i never was convinced untill the blood test lol)

Thanks girls :)

Just got back from the gynea, where like you said he gave me HCG.
He said if I really need to POAS I can do it on 10DPO so that is Friday 14th November, I can't wait.

Arcanegirl, I hope you are enjoying your second trimester and getting lots of much needed rest before the little one arrives.

Maz I hope you get your bfp soooooon :)

Good luck! Seems like we will be testing around the same time :dust:

Wow Akcher, you are just 3 days ahead of me :)
I just took a look at your chart and am I right in saying you went for IUI two days in a row?
I got my HCG shot last night so expected to ovulate tomorrow so going for IUI early tomorrow morning. I see your temps are nice and high. Is this your first at IUI?

My RE did perform IUI on me 2 times. When I went in on Thursday I have not ovulated yet. This is why they did it 2 times. This would be my second cycle for IUI. They gave me a higher injection so I will produce more than 1 egg this time.

Akcher & Waiting2bMommy, FX that this will be the cycle.

Akcher, I have been put on progesterone for the next 12 weeks, I see you have also.
How are you feeling? Any nausea?

Waiting2bMommy, are you on any special treatments to help you get that sticky bean?

Arcanegirl, I don't suppose you remember on which DPO you got your postive pregnancy test? Were you put on progesterone for your first trimester?

I know it's too soon to get symptoms but my BBs are very sore. This is not usual for me. I only get sore BBs when it's time for AF. I felt these on 1 DPO. I am feeling a little bit nauseated this morning. This could be due that I was sick this weekend. Hoping for the best! :dust:

Wow! How exciting. I don't think there is any hard and fast rule as to when you feel the sore boobs, I think it sounds promising to me. FX.
You are 4DPO so your little bean will be implanting in the next couple of days.

My first pregnancy symptom last time around was the obvious metal taste in my mouth.
I know it was at 8DPO because I stopped temping that day because the thermometer was tasting like metal and it was freeking me out!!!!!

8dpo i started geting the faintest of lines, but they were so faint i couldnt convince myself they were really there. They would easily have been mistaken for evaps (know now they werent )

I had progesterone support for two weeks, after that was left to my own devices. I did wonder about this as my friend who had ivf was on it for all of first tri. But i guess it still works out just having it for the two weeks as im still going strong :D

How exciting to be at 14 weeks, have you had your nuchal fold exam?
(measuring the fat behind the baby's neck to check if it is okay?)

Not sure, i had a scan at 12 weeks and everything was fine with that. She did the measurements etc so presume so.
Still to get the blood tests for downs etc, thos will be in two weeks time.

If the scan was fine, your little one will be perfect :)
