Questions for those moms who have had a c section

Hi,
I have a few questions about recovery.
How soon did you drive?
How soon did you bend over and pick something up off the floor?
When did your appetite come back?
How long did it take to feel back to normal?

I had a c section 1 week and 2 days ago. Physically, I feel great. I came home from the hospital after 2 days and have been up and moving since then. I have been out of the house several times/days. I started sleeping on my side at almost a week. But I'm scared to bend over.....I don't hurt I'm just scared of ripping open. I am having trouble sleeping and eating though. I have no appetite.

Bend over as if you still had your huge belly! you didn't use your ab muscles then, don't use them now! I had my appetite same day, but my metabolism is insane. I still don't feel normal, my scar hurts when I squish it, but that's it!

How soon did you drive? After 2 1/2 weeks my parents were on holiday and my dh back at work so I had to do the school run!
How soon did you bend over and pick something up off the floor? Probably the same as above I never really noticed but by then my scar was well healed
When did your appetite come back? Never lost it
How long did it take to feel back to normal? About 2 weeks but I was out and about before that, short trips to the supermarket, short walks with dh & ds1.

How soon did I drive? four weeks as it did not hurt me physically but i was ill after the pre eclampsia and still very swollen.
The pain from the incision healed within two weeks but it was hard to walk the first three to four days and bending over did not happen for me for three to four weeks although i could get in and out of bed, pick up baby and walk around within two weeks of the surgery but bare in mind i had a high fever and high blood pressure during and after summers birth so i was not a well mummy

as far as feeling normal again goes?
I still don't because i have not lost the baby weight, only half of it and i am still swollen due to hypothyroidism but recovering from the actual birth is over, its amazing how fast you do recover from a c section lol its everything else that hurts, the periods after wards and the headaches and nausea from my thyroid condition really sucks not to mention being woken up by baby hee hee but yeah its quite a quick recovery time these days, despite being ill and sick, i was out of hospital and resting at home by day four

2 weeks until I was cleared to drive. It was slow moving for the first week, no bending, picking up, etc. with my first it took about 3 weeks for my appetite to come back. And I remember feeling pretty human by 2 weeks & fully recovered by 6 weeks.

Can't remember, maybe 3 or 4 days?

When did your appetite come back?
I am hungry all the time. I asked for something to eat in recovery!

How long did it take to feel back to normal?
I am pretty much back to normal now, at 2 weeks. My feet took a while to go down, but are not swollen anymore so I can get out and about fine.

4 weeks to drive, a per insurers. But I was ready before.
Appetite right away. I was ravenous right after the op.
Bending to pick up things...probably. Few days, but bent legs and was nervous, but felt fine.
Back to fully normal 3 to 4 weeks.

I have a few questions about recovery.
How soon did you drive? Docs told me 2 weeks, but DH let me drive as soon as I was ready as long as I was careful(no speed bumps, pot holes, sharp turns, etc.)
How soon did you bend over and pick something up off the floor? As soon as I could get up and walk DH was at home with DD and of course I ended up having to drop EVERYTHING that I tried to pick up. So unless I wanted to go without diapers, my phone, and anything else I needed until DH could get off work at 6 and come visit, I had to. But be very careful. Like someone else said, bend over like you still have your big baby bump.
When did your appetite come back? I was starving as soon as I got back to my room. The first chance I got to send DH out for food, after I could stomach the "liquid diet" they give you, I did.
How long did it take to feel back to normal? It took me a few weeks to get back to feeling any kind of normalcy. But once I could drive and take a bath and do just about everything else "normal", it helped a lot.
