Hi Everyone,

I have some questions I am hoping can be answered.

I discontinued birth control pills Feb 14 and my last period was Feb 11. I have not had my period yet. I have taken a few pregnancy tests but they came up negative. Could it be that my cycle is still regulating? What may be some reasons I am not getting my period?

My husband and I have been having unprotected sex for the past two weeks. If my cycle isn't regulated yet, is it possible to conceive in this time?

Lastly, how often should you take a pregnancy test within a cycle? Not sure if we have conceived?

Thank you in advance!

It is very possible that your hormones are still regulating. Are you testing for ovulation? You should get a positive pregnancy test two to three weeks after you confirm ovulation if you conceived.

Thank you that's very helpful. My April period is due April 8. I was thinking of testing on Saturday the 11th. Is that too early?

No. Some people get a positive test before af, and some don't get a positive until after. It just all depends on when the baby implants. A few days after would be the perfect time to begin testing. Are you using any kind of ovulation tests?

I would definitely suggest starting with that if you didn't conceive this cycle. Another thing that you can do is track your temperature. If your period comes, take your temp every day as soon as you wake up, before you move out of bed. You can download an app called fertility friend and keep a record of your temp. You can use a bbt thermometer, they are only a few dollars at any pharmacy. You can start peeing on the ovulation test on cd 10 (cd 1 being your first day of af) test in the afternoon after a 4 hour hold with limited liquid intake. And after you get a positive, you should show a shift in your temperature the next day. That confirms that you did ovulate. That will let you know exactly when your fertile. It will also let you know exactly when you can expect your next period so you can time your pregnancy test better.

Great. Thank you for the great advice!

Hopefully I get a bfp in the next little while!

Gl!!! Ask anything you want, and hope you stick around here. The ladies here are very knowledgeable and kind! TTC is a scary thing to jump into, but hopefully your one of those it happens to immediate! Don't be discouraged if it doesn't though, for two healthy people only have a 20 percent chance each month!

Yes, it will take patience, something I don't have much of! lol. Hopefully once my cycle regulates things will get moving...
