Quick Question OML

Hi Ladies

I plan on returning to work after the first 26weeks of my Maternity Leave (I want to ensure i return to my same job role as am worried about redundancys etc)

My Mat leave begins on the 6th August 2012 (Monday) so would my OML end at the end of the 26th week (being 3rd Feb 2013 ??). I want to make sure I return during the OML period and do not carry over to AML.


I also plan on requesting flexible working but that depends on our situation come November when i have to give my 8 weeks notice to return early.

OML is 39 weeks so any time then or before will be ok. Week 40 onwards becomes AML and is unpaid. x

no, OML is 26 weeks, and then you are entitled to take another 26 weeks which is AML

SMP is paid for 39 weeks

i would double check the date with work, so they agree your date is taking you back at the end of OML

Hi there. It sounds like you have it right to me but I would put the question in writing to HR and ask them for confirmation in writing, then you have it covered!
