Just a quick Q. I currently work 40hrs a week. If I couldn't cope with that after the baby's born and they won't reduce my hours, would I be able to quit and go straight onto income support or would I have to go on jobseekers or wait 6 months etc?

It's just hypothetical cos I like my job most of the time.

have you put in a flexible working request? They need to consider it and then let you know why it is not possible in terms of business needs.

This link is really useful in telling you your rights.

xx

I haven't put in the request yet I'm going to wait until after my 20 week scan when everything looks ok.

you dont need to put it in until you are on maternity, I wont be as the nature of my work changes all the time, good luck and let us know how you get on xxx
