For Ramzi theory left is girl and right is boy, correct? I don't remember what side things were on in my 6 week u/s and it's packed away right now since we're moving in a week (yay!). Anyways... this morning while taking a listen on my doppler I noted that the whoosh whoosh sound is always on the left side of my body, is this the placenta? As soon as I find the whooshing I just move a tiny bit to the right and there's baby thumping away :)

If the whooshing is the placenta and on my left side, does that point to a girl?

DH is getting annoyed saying we just need to be patient and happy. I am happy, with either gender, I just can't help but be curious! I saw an adorable frame that had different gender predictions written on it and circled that was displayed at a gender reveal party and I though it would be so fun to do something similar!

My first child was on the left side--I could FEEL him there before I ever saw him on a scan. And yes, he was a boy. So I'm not sure how well this one holds up.

Feels like my second one is on the left, too. Another boy? Or a girl according to the method? *shrug* Wish there really was a good way to tell.

 I guess that's why they're theories rather than actual practice :) Are you staying :yellow: for this pregnancy? DH would be fine either way but I really want to know so we have to wait until next month.

The Ramzi method is only accurate between week 6-8 I think. Which could be wrong (its only what I've read) because you can't even tell where the placenta is until 8 weeks. If you had a TV (transvaginal) scan and you saw the placenta on the RIGHT then its supposed to be a boy. If it was on the LEFT then supposedly a girl.

If you had an AB (abdominal scan) then everything is the opposite - If you see the placenta on the RIGHT, its actually on the left, which would point to girl. If it was the LEFT, again, its actually on the right, so that points to boy.

I don't know anything about the whoosing you're hearing - That might just be where baby likes to lay. It might not have anything to do with this particular theory. Are you getting a gender scan soon? You can guess pretty accurately if you know what you're looking for if you get a scan between 12-13 weeks. That's the 'nub' theory. Good luck either way!

I've read the numb theory too, ladies on bnb seem divided on my 12 week u/s pic, and the ladies over at ingender are all voting girl. My next scan wont be until closer to 20 weeks so mid/late July.

When the midwife first listened for baby on doppler she said the whooshing was me so I wasn't sure if that's my heart rate or placenta, either way, baby hangs out right next to it.

Oh, I definitely want to know for this pregnancy, too. I like planning ahead. :)
