No it won't induce you, it tones the uterus to make contractions more effective so hopefully a shorter 2nd stage of labour as contractions are more effective at pushing baby out :flower:

Xx

I started around 36 weeks and went straight to 3 cups a day. I had a 3 hour labour and 1 minutes of pushing
So will be drinking it again

Has anyone had any experience of RLT making you go overdue? I heard that... x

Yeah, just google or use the search function on here. RLT threads appear every day at least.

Sorry noseying in from 2nd tri.

I drank it from second tri last time (about 25 weeks) and I was fine. I had a 5 1/2 labour with no tearing not even a little grazing.

I don't understand why it wouldn't be ok to drink earlier than 37 weeks. I didn't go into labour until 40 + 4 nd believe me i'd been trying to self induce from about 39 weeks (horrendous pregnancy just wanted it over with and wanted to meet my son) so yeah you should be fine drinking it now x

I started drinking it from 34 weeks with 1 cup a day and moving my way up from that. I am up to 4 cups starting tomorrow and will stay at that. I is said to work best over a couple weeks( it needs time to work into your system).

Raspberry leaf tea has been used by pregnant women for centuries to tone and strengthen the uterus. This can help make labor more efficient and possibly lessen the amount of time a woman is in labor. Besides its toning effect on the uterus, raspberry leaf tea is also thought to have many other benefits for pregnant women. Raspberry leaf tea is full of vitamins and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, vitamin E, vitamin B1, and vitamin B3, all of which are beneficial to your health and your baby's development. Drinking raspberry leaf tea can help lessen bleeding gums and nosebleeds, which are common occurrences during pregnancy.'

I drank it from week 34 on with my first, and went into labor at 38 weeks and a 3 hour labor with only 5 min of pushing. He was 7lb 12 oz and perfectly healthy, I had some minor tearing.

I am currently 33 weeks pregnant with my second and will start drinking one cup a week and increase it by one cup every 2 weeks until I go into labor agian!

My girlfriend had a very similar experience with her daughter. Our midwives were extremely impressed with us. We also took PrimRose Oil capsules too, that helps soften the cervix so you dilate quicker.

UK ladies, can someone tell me which brand of teas you used? Is it available in supermarkets - don't recollect seeing it :(

Hi ladies do you recommend the tea as apposed to the tablets? are they the same? i have been taking the tablets from Holland and Barrett and don't know if it the same dosage or to move onto the tea?

Thank you

I have heard of other woman taking the pill because they do not like the taste of the tea. I can tell you each tea bag contains 1,750mg in it and i am up to 4 bags a day.
