Not sure if these two things are related.

Yesterday I noticed my 5 month old has a rash all over her back, chest/tummy, and arms. They are teeny little red bumps that are barely visible, but you can feel them if you rub her back. It's not itchy at all and doesn't seem to bother her in the slightest. I would think it might be heat rash from the look of it, but it's been chilly and raining here the last few days.

She also has been sleeping a lot during the day. She'll only be up for 45 min or an hour before she's ready for another nap. Yesterday afternoon she slept for an hour, was up for 30 min, then slept 2.5 hrs straight which is really not like her.

When she is awake she is her normal, happy, playful self. Any ideas on what might be going on with her?

Eta: just now she woke from a 45 min nap, we went out for a swim in the hot tub for 10 min which she loves, then when we came back in I layed her on my bed while I got dressed and she fell back asleep for an hour!

There are lots of things that cause a general 'viral rash'. If the bumps feel a little rough then maybe scarlet fever is one to consider.

First I would probably not take her into the hot tub if you're using chemicals in the tub..... Chlorine can be toxic and in addition to the heat, it could be dangerous. If it's not inflamed or itchy then it very well could be a heat rash. Which doesn't only happen during warm months. It can be from the hot tub or over dressing.

We don't use any chemicals in our hot tub and only take her in for a maximum of 10 min on days when it has been drained, cleaned, and refilled with fresh filtered water (which my OH does weekly). We also keep the temp at 99 degrees which is just slightly warmer than her bath water so that it is a comfortable temp for her.

I noticed the rash after she had a long 2 hr nap and she felt very warm when she woke up so she might have been overdressed in her fleecy pajamas.
