Hi All my LO is 11 months but thought you guys might have had simular experience to this and i could do with some advice.

My LO has always been fond of his milk. I only BF for a little while and now FF.

My LOs day feeding goes like this:

up at 8am

9:30/10:00 - Breakfast - Weetibix with fruit

11:30 - 6oz bottle for sleep - always finishes bottle

1:30 - Lunch - example - Sandwich, chunk of cheese, sticks of cucumber, natural yog mixed with fruit.

3:30 - 6oz milk for sleep again drinks whole bottle

5:30 dinner - (he chooses not to eat meat for some reason) Normally will have a few different veggies with potatos or he will have a meat free pasta and sauce dinner or risotto he never has same thing twice in 2 weeks and for pudding he will have either fruit with natural yog or pureed apple mixed with some rusk to make a crumble.

7pm he had supper - Poridge with pureed fruit - eats 1 whole portion.

Now this is where it really kicks in he has an 8oz bottle to go to sleep with which he drinks the entire lot.

and then he is up every 2 hours for a 6oz bottle until the morning  i know hes hungry because he is screaming and he gulps it down so quickily - he really sucks on the bottle to get it quick.

Hes already on hungry baby milk but its not doing the trick during the night he is constantly hungry

I have tried giving him more milk during the day but that just results in him eating less solids which means he is even more hungry during the night.

i really dont know what i can do??? I going to speak with HV tomorrow but her answer for everything is 'he will stop doing that over time' which does not help me

Just to Add - my LO is following just under the 50th percentile - he was an early walker at 8.5 months and is constantly on the go

Hi hun, it sounds like you have a very active little one who is burning off lots and lots of energy during the day. :)

Has his solid intake been the same for a while or have you added anything extra recently? It looks like he's eating great food, but could he want bigger portions now? Does he take any water with his food?

Would he take a bit more milk just before his naps? If he's finishing the bottle every time, he might still be hungry/thirsty. Do you offer snacks between meals?

If you are worried about him taking the bottle over solids, offer it after he has eaten his food instead of before or during.

Perhaps try adding a banana after his evening porridge, this works particularly well for my son who started sleeping through at 13 months after we adjusted his solids.

Bless him, I don't have a hungry toddler, but he wakes up during the night from time to time for milk when he doesn't eat well during the day. You can try to offer him more snacks during the day or up his porridge for supper & try a banana with his porridge xx

thanks Ladies -

we offer him water throughout the day and with all his meals. Hes not a big water drinker he dont drink a whole cup of drink in 1 day maybe half? but i think thats all he needs

could try snack again but last time we tried snacks he would only pick at his meals which resulted in him eating less.

I shall try upping his milk bottles an oz see if that makes any difference nd will put banana with his porridge he loves banana anyways so that will be good.

His portions are normally too big - i normally dish him up more then i know he will eat so that he gets enough so dont think the size of his food is any different.

hes resently been on 4 solid meals a day - breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper about 2/3 weeks ago he was only on 2 meals but we tried to get him into a food routine which is working well except this is when his milk intake at night went up

I would try adding the banana to porridge as others have said...failing that i would cut out supper altogether . My LO was more hungry after having supper for some reason?
