this pain is always there, could it be placenta previa? as my SIL had the exact same pains as I am having especially when she stood up and in early in the mornings and she had previa until 36 weeks so I am just curious as the pain is very low down and the baby is carrying high which is strange too, sex also hurts as my lady V is throbbing on and off. Midwife says the painful sex thing is a side effect of pregnancy but she cannot even entertain the idea of previa until the 20 week scan next week

Has anyone else had these bad splitting, stretching pulling pains that turned out to be a low lying placenta??? please help
thank you :hugs:

I've been getting these pains with me its more to the side and can swap sides really painful and worrying lasts a few hours (mainly at night) then by morning its gone. I think its known as round ligament pain and its just your body making space for baby. I have anterior placenta so doubt that its related to the placenta at all. If you've already mentioned this to midwife and she doesn't seem worried then I guess its pretty normal.

I get sharp pains around the bikini line, especially when im getting up or move too fast. They only last a few seconds and my midwife confirmed that they are just ligament pains.

thanks ladies, well at my last scan the sonographer said my placenta was in the anterior position so it could be related??? and yes its most likely round ligament pain. Have you ladies felt your babies kick? with an anterior placenta it can take longer to feel kicks is that right?
