I'm 33 weeks pregnant, almost 34 weeks. I have been told to take it easy and relax as I'm at risk for preterm labour. I had steriod shots for the babys lungs a couple weeks ago and some medication that I couldn't spell to save my life to stop my labour. I have, for the past 30 minutes been having really sharp pains that feel like right inside my vagina, sometimes so sharp that I can feel it inside my butt too. My hips are really bad lately as well, I limp when I walk because the pain is that much. What could these sharp pains be? I don't see my OB for another 5 days so I was hoping someone on here who has been through it before could help me out. My OB is also on holidays until the 18th with no other Dr on call to take care of her patients in emergencies so I can't call if I wanted to. The only thing I could do it go to L&D but I don't wanna make a trip up there for nothing once again. Also. this is my second pregnancy if that means anything.

I have these shooting sharp pains as well, although I'm not in your situation and have only had them every so often, curious to know what they are though. If I were you I'd hop over to L&D they should understand why you are back! Sorry I couldn't be of more help. keep us updated

Thanks anyways, I guess it just makes me feel better to talk to someone about it. My mom just thinks I over react about everything and thinks it's not a big deal when to me, it feels larger than life lol. I think if they continue, and get worse I'll get over to L & D and see what they have to say. They usually just pump me full of morphine, or demoral and send me home so we'll see what happens.

Sounds a little light lightning crotch to me.. I had it once or twice so far. Its just from the baby hitting your cervix or sitting on a nerve. My midwife actually warned me that I may start feeling it the next few weeks.

I experience this quite a bit and have so for some weeks now. I was told that it was the baby bumping against my cervix. It happens most frequently when I'm hungry, walking up or down hills, or after sex. It sounds like it is very normal to experience!
