This is for moving on from the little baby car seat. We're going to get the rear facing 'in situ' car seat (up to 4 yrs ish), but only have a rover 25. Anyone else got a small car with a rear facing car seat? If so which seat have you chosen?
Not sure if this is the right place to post - but guessing I stand the best chance here!!!
Any suggestions would be most welcomed!! x

I think the best way to find the best seat for you is to go to somewhere that will try them out for you. We found a shop about 25 mins away from us and they were excellent. They gave us all sorts of advice to help us choose, like saying how the manufacturer for certain seats says they'll last up to 6 years but it's more like 4 if you're being realistic, and how some seats will officially fit in some cars but will make the front passenger seat impossible to sit on. It's definitely worth trying them out if you possibly can.

Thanks very much - will do. I've found a shop near us which insists on fitting, i.e., won't mail order, so I'll make an appointment with them.
Plus I think we will need a tutorial in fitting one!!!

That's a good idea, you can also email at carseat.se and they can help you figure out which ones would fit in your car too :)

^^wss, I bought mine from there, it's an Isofix thus foolproof to fit, so I don't feel bad about not going to a specialist in this country. I don't think the one we got is available over here anyway, it's a Akta-Graco Duologic, which fits in small cars. We have a Citroen C3, which is really small, and the front passenger seat is pushed only a little bit forward.

Thanks for the help - Mummyof3 - it was you that got me onto this . . . . .
Went to halfords to buy a seat, decided on two possibles then looked on here and stumbled across your post showing all your lovely boys in their seats - then started to delve further and decided then and there that I am NOT having forward. I did look at the swedish site - but I really want someone to show me and fit it. Plus if it's come from overseas, or been posted more than necessary I'm a tad paranoid that the seat may have been dropped. Anyway, went on rearfacing.co.uk, and found a shop near us that sells them. If they don't come up with anything I will contact the swedish site. Last night was a rude awakening - and so glad I found out and didn't waste my money as I'd have had her out of the forward one quick enough. As it is she's staying in her infant carrier for the time being as she's still diddy!!
Thanks for the tip about the one that fits into the C3 - we don't have isofix - so will be a belted jobbie, Oh how I wish I was a squilionaire - I'd be buying a nice new car just to fit a seat!!!

Hakan at carseat.se recommended the Britax Hi-Way for me when I was looking for a non-Isofix rf seat for a small car, as we had a 10-year-old Peugeot 206, which didn't have Isofix. We changed cars right before we were needing the new car seat but the C3 is a similar size in the back to the Peugeot. I am fairly sure the Hi-Way is available in the UK. :)
