Reasurance scan next time??

Moomoo..well thats the thing. im not sure i would've gotten one when is spoke to the midwife but i did point out that i was an emotional wreck crying all the time etc etc..i think thats why she said she could ask (but that they are very busy blahda blahda).

Surely getting a wee scan doesnt stretch resources that much???

you would be suprised. its costs a fair bit 2 run the scanners esp when there not needed * well in there eyes nt needed* they class the EPAU as a clinic for ppl who are having trouble and are high risk of m/c.
when i went A&E they didnt no if 2 scan me coz that ment gettingthe scanner on and warmed up.. they werent happy.
plus dr's dntcare if your an emotional wreck.. ill only get a scan at 7/8 weeks and a 12 week scan and im very high risk.

I havent had a m/c but I hope you dont mind me posting here. I lost my baby girl at 5 days old, nothing pregnancy related, but i did get an early scan when i fell pregnant again. This way mainly because i hadnt had AF for 12 weeks as cycles were irregular...the Dr was great and sent me down to EPU and scanned me and everything was fine. I think they need to pretty sure of dates, so if they refused an early scan you could play a bit thick that you're unsure of your dates xxxxxx

I know a friend of mine got an early scan after her 1st miscarriage. She fell pregnant straight away after losing her baby and they offered her a scan at about 7 weeks just to check it was all going ok

I had a miscarriage and my doctor told me that I would go for a scan at 12 or 13 weeks this time. So no different from last time.

hi moomoo, this is the same as i felt after i had mc in aug, when i fell preg the next month i was so worried about if things were gonna go well or not, so i told a little fib to dr to get an early scan, i told dr i have no idea when i last period was, he said oh il send u for a scan, but really i knew i was about 6 wks x

I had a m/c in 2007 and had to put up a fight with the EPAU to get an early scan when I started bleeding. They did scan me that day but obviously it wasn't good news. I am currently 10 1/2 wks preg and had my first docs appointment at 6 wks. I told her of my concerns that it would go wrong and she advised me to ask the midwife for an early scan when I was booking in. I booked in at 7 wks and the midwife noted my request but I then received my scan date through and it will be 12 wks exactly (have just over a week to wait). I know that you can pay to go to a private clinic for an early assessment scan, I don't think it's more than £100 but I decided against it. Purely because if anything went wrong I would find it harder having seen something in the first place.
I am so nervous about my scan but the morning sickness is continuing - I have to take that as a good sign!

Good luck

xx

Hi Moomoo, I am pregnant again after early m/c's and purely for the reason of not wanting to go to the EPU (bad memories) we decided to get a private scan. I had it today at 6w+2 and it cost £79, it was worth every penny if you can afford it and it puts your mind at rest xxxx
