Receiving donor egg, sperm, or embryo

Hi,

DH and I are now changing directions in our LTTTC route. We have had two failed IUIs, two failed IVFs, and our third IVF ended with an early m/c. We are waiting to meet with our doctor, but when we spoke briefly over the phone, he suggested that going the donor route would be our next step.

While it is very upsetting to know that DH and I will not be having a biological child, I am still open to donor. I'm thinking we're going to have to adopt an embryo(s).

Have any of you received from a donor? How did this make you feel? Did you pick the donor or did the donor pick you? Do you have any relationship with the donor afterwards? What do you tell family/friends? Do you tell your baby and what do you tell him/her?

I know my dr will have some answers, but I'd like to get some answers from people that have actually gone through this.

Hi there! Sorry I don't have any advice to give, but I did post a similar thread myself recently (sorry don't know how to link it but it was called "Anyone considering, or are using, Donor Eggs?"). I had a few responses that you might find helpful, but not a huge response! I shall watch this thread to see if you get any other replies! We aren't quite at that point yet, but it is something that I would consider, but have the same questions that you do! Good luck!
