Receptionist who took the hoax phone call for Kate found dead!!

What I find discusting is the amount of tweets to the djs wirh things like blood in their hands, should be charged for death, murderers, karma will get them.

Dont these people realise that what they are doing ti the djs is the same stupid type of hounding that caused a death in the first place and this type of witch hunt could even end up causing another suicide

I do agree though they do have blood on their hands, they should be charged for what they did

I feel so sad for Kate and William as well, such an terrible thing to happen all in the name of entertainment

This is really sad.
Surely there must be something else to it? She wasn't the nurse who gave out the details she was the one who put them through to the nurse right?

I feel there is more to it also....awful!

I never get emotional over much but this has really saddened me.

Those DJ's crossed the line with that prank even before the poor nurse took her own life. I don't think the media will ever learn. Such a shame :(

What im finding realt hard to understand is the nurse that comitted suicide was actualt the one that answered the call right?
All she did was say hello, please hold and put the call through, she didnt give at any info at all and wasnt the one the media was laying into.
She virtualy had nothing to do with it so why has this all been automaticaly pinned on the prank?
It was the nurse that was being humiliated by the media amd twitter not the woman who answered the phone so chances are that her suicide had anything to do with the prank is actualy bare minumal.
Seem like its just another bandwagon for the media to jump on.
There was probably 100 other reasons this woman took her life if she even did (hasnt yet been proved to be suicide)

Chances that her suicide was because of the prank is pretty slim, its just a great paper seller to say it was.

Such a loss :( R.I.P

its wrong what the DJ's did.

Given the high profile of the patient, there should have been things in place before putting them through. Once through, the other nurse would have thought that these had occurred hence giving the info out over the phone.

As she was the one who took the initial call, there may have been checks that didnt occur, before putting the call through.

The manager of the hospital said royal calls are normally put through to the in duty police officer not the nurse in the ward, so that's where the error occurred.

Regardless of whether this was the only reason or the last straw, it has had an impact on a woman, a wife and mother, taking her own life.

They should be ashamed of themselves

Iv phoned hospitals a number of times to get info, not once has reception questioned me but the nurse they put me through to has.
Yes its a high profile case but she was just helping out on switch board it wasnt her job.
There is just no real conection between the call and what happened, it just annoys me on why the media quickly jump on the "it must have been because of this" reasoning with no real link or proof

Dont you think its a bit weird though smokey it happened a couple of days after the phone call, it must have tipped her over the edge

So so sad. And at the end of the day all because someone is pregnant. I feel sick for that poor woman and her family

It's awful

She did make a mistake, the nurse that then took the call and gave the info out also made a mistake. You never ever give information over the phone unless it is 100% indicated i.e police/ social services

It was an error on both parts and when you realise you have made a mistake your heart literally stops (I'm sure we have all been there) now with all the media surrounding it with a high profile couple then can you imagine the stress put on herself, her managers and colleagues. Even if her team were supportive you would always feel guilty. Maybe this was just enough to tip her over the edge.

So sad for her family

I hope that those radio presenters are ashamed of themselves.

The poor family :(

How terribly sad for her family and friends. But also how sad for our nation, what a bloody omen for this poor baby to be..... just horrible all round!

Owh I can't believe this! Thoughts are with her family x

It's so sad :( I too do feel that there must be more to it, and although the DJs were wrong and it wasn;t funny I do thing that it is a bit harsh to blame them for her death. I'm sure the last thing they were thinking is that someone would kill themselves over this!

Absolutely tragic.
I think there may have been other factors resulting in this lady taking her own life however that does not excuse those idiots on the radio for wasting valuable hospital time and resources, breaching royal security and impersonating someone else to gain confidential information about a patient.
where is the apology from them?

Eta I think the media should just leave them alone, poor kate can't even puke in peace..hardly going to be a relaxing pregnancy. Yes they are our figureheads but what next..a photographer abseiling down the hospital while she is in labour? Disgusting. If someone rang up about a member of my family in hospital and broadcast it to the world I would be mightily annoyed. Rant over. Sorry ladies x

That was the problem they didnt stop to think at all
