Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

I forgot to say I'm sorry for everything else. It is all just a precaution, I am sure :hugs:

Have you had Nkc testing done hun? Sorry I know you will of said but it's hard to keep up with everyone. I think around six weeks is a common time for things to go wrong with elevated Nkc x

My plan was to go and see prof. Quenby when my 2 cycle wait is up after this miscarriage, which will be in the new year. I'm hoping that she can give me some advice even if I don't have high nk cells. Not sure how all this cervical bleeding is going to fit in though....

Problem is, I've run out of time to actually conceive! We are hoping to move next year so we can be together (dh working away during the week after Xmas) but it's going to be ages with selling houses / finding new job and working in new job for respectable amount of time before trying (I always conceive very quickly). By which time I'll be 36/37 and ds would be 5/6 at least.

Maybe I'm over thinking it but I feel like my time is up  might just be over emotional today though as sometimes I don't care if I'm old and there's a big age gap....I just want another baby.

:hugs: sweetie. I wouldn't let those things make a decision for you, you may end up regretting it.

Hopefully you hear back from them soon and then you can see Prof Q in the new year and decide what to do fully informed x

Petitpas, Tasha, Hope - Thank you, have you found them to be really good? x

LPF - sorry you are having such a horrible time at the moment. I hope everything works out, it must be really stressful for you. You're not too old :) , I think a lot of us feel like that sometimes x

I seen mr shehata after my 6th loss, tested positive for nk cells so took steroids for no7. Effectively that treatment plan worked for me (I did have septate surgery too) as my next pregnancy I made it to 27w

I lost Isaac due to a placental abruption. mr S thinks it immune related still so has now put me on hydroxycloroquine to lower my immune system more

Xx

Blueblue , I went to Coventry in August to get the NK cells testing. I don't have elevated levels, but one of my consultants here told me that simply having the biopsy taken is helpful, even if you don't have it tested, because it provokes an inflammatory response which changes the environment of the womb. My protocol was clexane & progesterone, although due to having some spotting, I've had to stop the clexane & up the dosage of progesterone. For what it's worth, because of what my consultant said, I think Coventry would be better to get tested in.

Squig progesterone causes spotting hun, without sounding crude, do you use it vaginally or the other way, lol

Why did they get you to stop the clexane? Because of spotting?

Xx

Your uterine nk cells flush out with your menstrual period each month according to Mr S. x

Hope - yeah I take the progesterone the back way - I knew from what other ladies had said on here it could cause spotting. I was a bit nervous about trying the other way as I thought it would be uncomfortable, but as you & some of the others did it, I gave it a go & it's fine! I always spot in pg but I'm not sure if it's cause or effect - they can never find any reason for it but this time I got much farther before it started. & it seems to be sliwing/stopping, so maybe the higher dose progesterone is helping. Yes I had to stop the Clexane due to spotting. So I hope it'll be ok as a low dose promotes placenta formation apparently.

Any of you have your AF start early after starting either baby aspirin, a prenatal with more folic acid in it, omega 3's or vitamin c? I have always had a 28-30 day cycle and I'm on CD 26 and when I went potty this morning a had a slight bit of light colored spotting?? I have never started this early before? I might spot a tad on like CD 28 and then actually start a day or two later, but this is odd? Any ideas?

Squig - Thank you

Hope - Thank you, I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that

Mrs, do you track your cycles? It would be helpful to know if af came early or ovulation. Not the same thing... Also, if this is your first full cycle since your mc then it can be a bit off and you should probably just ignore it.

LPF, I'm glad your gynae is addressing your bleeding but I don't like his reasoning about four consecutive miscarriages being bad luck. Just because he hasn't found a cause it doesn't mean there isn't one!
I think a referral to a more specialised doctor (i.e. Prof Q) would be more useful than just blindly trying again.

Don't worry about your age and especially not about being respectable in a new job. You'll still qualify for maternity allowance and you can prove your worth/respectability when you go back after. You need to be selfish and put yourself before a perceived view of a possible new employer. Go get that baby!

petitpas this is my 2nd AF since my 2nd miscarriage. My doctor wanted me to wait 2 cycles this time. I haven't had anymore spotting since this morning, but I feel a bit like my AF is around the corner. Maybe just getting ready to kick into gear a couple days early. Just use to it always being right around 28-30 days, not 26. Who knows? :dohh:

Thank you, that made me feel better about everything! :hugs:

Hello Ladies I'm back! After my last loss back in Aug I kind of abandoned the boards (sorry!!).. Got a BFP on Thursday (Thanksgiving) then a Digi confirmed on Friday, then this AM my FRER was dark. But I'm still scared, having very small back pains (but not directly in the middle, more lower) but no spotting. Getting a Beta tomorrow.

Congrats D. Holding your hand on this scary journey.

I didn't update on here after my scan.

Perfect sized gestational sac, yolk sac, CRL and a heartbeat. I'm eight weeks today!

Congrats Tasha! I hope mine sticks this time. This is the fifth pregnancy this year, and 7th since 2011 - none have made it past 5/6 weeks.

Everything crossed. Are you on any meds? Will you be seen soon.

I've had sixteen first tri loses and a stillbirth in the last six years. The only one that had a good scan at this gestation (where it was the right size and had a normal hb) was the stillbirth (and now this one). So it feels like a positive step for me.
