i would definately go for the second one as well!! my hair colour is quite a dark one with hints of red in it - i use l'oreal casting hair dye (number 20 - mahogany) its only a semi-permanent one tho! and i leave it on longer than it says to!

I think the second one is too red, iykwim?i prefer the first and last.very natural and beautiful!!
Although,if you have dyed black hair atm it could be tricky coz black dye is usually different.my friend dyed her hair black and even when the hairdresser tried to strip the colour it had absolutely no effect!!I had to wait for my black hair to grow out/fade.took forever.lol

hmmm everyone likes the one thats the most common over here.
what shade of red do people have over there?

Not many red heads around where I live actually- and the ones that are are pretty much natural, so that varies.

I chose #1 and 2 because it seemed like the easiest and most "natural" transition to make from your old hair color- correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it black right now?

i wouldnt chance it, if you put a colour of now your going to have roots a different colour to the rest of your hair.

Only way i would do it is to go to the hairdresses and get highlights.

thats what im thinking. but it costs soooo much to go to a hairdressers. DH's best friend and my friend is one of the best hairdressers over here and does it for free if i buy the stuff so i might tell him to do it for me, if i decide if i want ti blonde or red :D i tried to do it blonde before and i failed miserably numerous times. but i had it red loads of times.

Were you planning on having it done professionally- like in a salon- or at home? I'm pretty sure if you try to dye it any color red not much will happen, so you have to remove the black.

I don't know too much about hair lol- so hopefully someone a bit more knowledgable will answer lol. but do you have a specific favorite but just aren't sure, or are you equally torn between the four?

i like them all im just wondering what would suit me, or what looks nicer.

yea ive got the same problem at the mo, i got mine dyed red last month and want to go blonde again but cant afford it :(

And i cant find a hairdresser who does my hair how i like it!! i always walk out thinkin oh god whats she done to my hair!!

Sometimes i wish i could shave my head and start all over again

be careful when going for red hair  prepare for alot of maintenence! Also be aware that its VERY difficult to go lighter/strip your colour without going through the "inbetween" stages I had red hair for years but it was a bugger when I wanted to change colours! Even if you go darker... the red just fights its way back again  akgh! x

I agree.i was red for years and even when I put brown on to cover it,it eventually just went into a dark reddish brown colour!!it wasnt until I went black that it finally went, but then I was stuck with black hair :haha:

I like number 1 best.

I currently have a lighter version on number 3 after trying to dye my hair blonde myself

Ive dyed my hair red for the last couple of years, my favourite shade is below. I would go for something quite red rather than coppery-red, especially if its a common colour. A lot of people here have red hair but its usually shorter than mine (which is almost near the bottom of my back). Red always gets my vote over blonde, even if you are stuck with it for years to come (I was naturally blondey and hated it, much prefer red)
