Redundancy and maternity....

Hi all,

I've been advised that I am being made redundant but not yet had any paperwork. My question is what happens now regarding maternity leave if I fall pregnant between now and the time I leave? I'm guessing I've got a couple of months left at least as it has to go through consultation yet?

I'm in the uk by the way.

Thanks,
L

If you are at your job up to the 25th week of pregnancy then work will pay your full mat pay legally. If not you will have to apply for maternity allowance which comes direct from the government Xx

Hi, thanks for that. So really it's very unlikely I will get my company maternity, even if I got pregnant this month I'd have to still be employed in 6mths time.

I'm wondering if I did get pregnant and got to the stage of telling my boss if they would then rush the redundancy through before I got to 25 weeks? Surely they would want to do that wouldn't they?
