So I've just got an appointment with a fertility specialist but I can't help but feel disappointed that its come to this, I always thought/hoped that it would happen so easily!

Hey,

I can relate a lot to this. Yesterday I saw in my handbag the notes for my blood test and the Doctor had written 'infertility work up' and although of course I am glad she is doing the tests & getting a fertility specialist involved, it's still incredibly sad it's got to this point.

Wishing you all the best with your appointment and I really hope they can help you very soon.

Are you in the UK or elsewhere?

x

I'm in Canada! Yes my lab work said the same 'infertility' that word freaks me out. I'm really hoping that this is my month so I don't even have to go to the appointment :-)

Me and my partner were referred to a fertility specialist when concieving our first. He told us that if he was allowed to use the word "impossible" he would tell us it was impossible for us to concieve a baby naturally. I was pregnant 4 weeks later!

fingers crossed for you both.

Yeah I get were you're coming from. DH and I are getting our referral after we get our blood test results back. I really wanted to conceive naturally but don't think that'll happen:nope: Our GP said it would be "highly unlikely" that we could conceive naturally:( So we'll be the first in DH's family to need assisted conception:dohh:

But I'm trying to see the positive, that we'll now hopefully be able to conceive now:thumbup: Luckily, assisted conception is free in Denmark if you have a referral from your GP (which you can first get after trying for 12 months no matter your age):happydance: I'm just hoping that nothing is seriously wrong with me so that it can be easily solved with IUI as I think IVF costs a bit:wacko:

Hope that you soon see your :bfp: :dust:

Wow thanks missk that's great to hear! I'm hoping that if there is something that there will be an easy solution!
Well I guess I'm CD1 again so il be getting the day 3 FSH blood tests, my GP had already sent me for most of the other blood tests, everything was normal except TSH was a little high so put me on a thyroid medicine.
OH had SA and results look really good, so I guess were getting closer to an answer!
Kat that's great that everything will be covered in Denmark, I think my insurance will cover everything too once referred by a GP.
I hope you see your BFP soon too! :-)

Can I ask. Was it due to you or your hubby that Dr said impossible.. my Dr said the same thing as my husband is infertile at the moment. He starts his 5 week treatment tomorrow.

Hi there, we are in the same boat. Booked in to start the ivf process next month. Good luck :)
