They told me I had a low lying placenta, but would need an appointment at 36 weeks, then I got a letter through my post saying I had missed an appointment with the obstertricts team.

I didn't even know I had one, I have an appointment on Thursday now but I am so scared.

Has anyone else had something similar xxx

Hi hun, I wouldn't worry. Obstetrics are probably just more qualified to look after you, should your placenta cause an issue. At my 20 week scan it was discovered my baby had a cleft lip and palate and I was referred to the fetal medicine team even though there is little can be done until my wee man is here. The specialist looking after us is the head of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the UK. I just figure I'm in the best hands. I know it is not the same as your case but I really wouldn't worry, they just want to keep a wee eye on you xx

Try not to worry - in most cases a low lying placenta corrects itself. You just need monitoring to make sure.

a frend of mine has a low lying placenta and has to go to extra scan to see if the placenta has moved higher with the growth of the unterus - she hwas refered to obstetrican for this, so i wouldnt worry its just the medical team being cautious and making sure they provide u with the best care they can and if it does seem to cause issues they may just book u in for c-section but thats on rare occassions my friend and i was told.

iv been refered to obstetrician aswell due to my bloodpressure being very high and get extra scan also again just to make sure me n baby are coping well!

ul be fine hun they would have called u in urgently if was an issue as they have u on waiting list and booking appointments its just routine!
good luck chic x
