Reflexology is a natural, non-invasive healing art that uses pressure points on the feet and hands to balance out other parts of the body. It aims to alleviate tensions and promote relaxation and can be beneficial for pregnancy or indeed, couples trying for a baby.

I've been doing an evening course at college studying reflexology for 4 months now (finish in june) and find it very interesting...my tutor was telling us last night that she had one client who had been trying for a baby for several years and she was reccomended to go and have a reflexology treatment...so my tutor performed the treatment and weeks later she became pregnant...

Last night in class i had a full reflex treatment lasting around an hour...but the main part that was concentrated on was my ovaries and fallopian tubes...

You can help stimulate these organs yourself by massaging the area needed...
Number 46 for the fallopian tubes and 49 for the ovaries :D check it out ...it takes some seconds to load :)

What a great excuse for a foot massage from my husband! :happydance:
I couldn't open the link, but I'll go look for a reflexology chart and find ovaries, etc.

Thanks!

I went for reflexology and got my BFP straight away, after a year of trying to conceive! I'd recommend it! So relaxing!

Doesnt the link work.oops sorry ladies, maybe you can cope and paste it?
Wow thats brilliant didda!!! My tutor has had some success stories so it must do something eh? :D x x x

Thats amazing if it works. I would find it hard to find those areas being so small on your feet, i would probably be doing the wrong bit lol

I just copied and pasted and the link works. I'm going to be sitting all day long, rubbing that part of my ankle now!
I hope your reflex treatment gives good results for you.

Thats great - thanks! I'll have a massage later, may look a bit strange doing it at work!!

Interestingly I am having acupuncture and I have had needles in my ankles and burning bits of herbs on the same area to warm up and improve blood flow to my uterus - FX it worked

Good luck ladies i can imagine us all sittng down rubbing our ankles and feet now lol x x x

I have just started having some reflexology sessions (my 2nd session is today actually). It was relaxing but I did come away wondering if it was really going to help. My DH thinks its nonsense (not v supportive). I have a lot of mood swings / pms so I am hoping it helps there as the reflexologist said it helps bring the body back into balance. I am on cd12 and ovulating soon so I hope it works for me. Am prepared to go for a few sessions and see what happens. Good to hear positive comments for reflexology makes me feel like I am not wasting my money.

Thats right reflexology really does work I am living proof that it does...good luck girls.

im on cd12 too! been using opks and have been neg so far... hoping to get a pos in the next couple of days tho! im going to try yoga next week to try and relax me lol and im also considering reflexology xx

well ladies i can honestly say that it can work but not on every1 (sorry to dash any1 hopes) i have been a complimentary and holistic therapist in a spa and for myself for 5yrs!i have people come to me for a treatment plan and 1 out of a few who have hoped will work when they were TTC got her BFP so it can work.

please note that it is nto for every1 and avoid the areas in the first trimester!

have fun if u d it urself but go to a specialist 1st so they can show u the areas on u as every1 is slightly different!

i've just had my first reflexology treatment so thought i'd dig this thread up. it was amazing how when she touched my foot on the area corresponding to my back it was so tender (even though she wasnt using any more pressure) and I woke up this morning with a sore back (I work with computers so not abnormal).

then we she did the uterous and ovaries she said she found it "crunchy" on the area representing my uterous and it was tender to touch on both of those areas (for me).

i'll keep you posted and let you know if this helps at all ladies :)

xx

Thank you SO much, Ive been wanting to know which bits of the foot should be massaged for AGES!

Ill soon be a qualified reflexologist and cant wait!!!I forgot i wrote this thread  I'd reccomend it to anyone, not just to help get pregnant, but for relaxtion and a sense of well being!

Good luck girls!!! :hugs:

My sister-in-law is a midwife and a reflexologist and has "done" my feet a couple of times to try and help. Be aware though that you should NOT have reflexology during your 2ww as it can disrupt things. The best time to have it done is when your body is preparing to ovulate.

I can recommend the relaxing effect of it!

I ama a qualified reflexologist and when i was learning 3 women in our class all got pregnant so i shall be doing my own feet!!!

my reflexologist has also given me places on my hands to massage that represent the ovaries. i'm sure you could google that too ladies (or ask our resident reflexologist!)
:)

Thats really interesting about the 2ww. I've had 4 reflexology sessions this month and my cycle was slightly later this month. For this past 4 cycles I've had 28/29 day cycle and this month it was 32, although the first half of 2008 that was a fairly normal cycle lenght for me. Do you think reflexology may have lengthened my cycle? I seems to ovulate at the normal day day 15-16 but my dpo were more and I was getting exctied for a while as my temps stayed up for longer but them the witch arrived!!! I don't want reflexology to mess with my cycle I want it to help and I liked having the 28/29 day cycles as you got to try again sooner!

Apart from that I have enjoyed the reflexology and it has made me look at how stressed I get and why, which can only be good. I have really been trying to take time for myself and calm things and not get over emotional.

:)

Working on my hands makes me tired and grumpy!!!!

The best advice is just massage your feet and rub some moisuriser in as that way it will be relaxing and you will be hitting your points.

Concentrate on all of your feet.
