So we have just been prescribed some by the doctor for Brookes reflux

What do find is the best way to work this into your routine with your feeding? As in making feeds up, mixing the gaviscon in etc? :baby:

Also as they can only have 6 doses in 24 hours do you put it in all of your bottles, or every other?

Sorry for the 101 questions im just trying to find a way to work with this thats going to fit in with us and cause minimal fuss :)

My sister used to use gaviscon for her Lo and she used to put half a sachet in each bottle so that she had enough for each feed - I hope it helps little Brooke x

As we got ours when Tigs was 6 weeks old she was only having 6 feeds a day anyway, so we just put one in each bottle. The best way to do it if you make your feeds in advance is to make feed, put it fridge or whatever you would normally do and then add gaviscon after you've warmed the feed otherwise it won't mix in it will sink to the bottom. If you make your feeds by demand then just add it when she wants it.

Hope it works for you xx

That is my main worry, as i usually make 3 or 4 feeds in advance. But if its ok to add the gaviscon to a ready prepped feed then hopefully we can fit it onto our routine easily :)

I'd love to help, but I BF. I make it up, then warm it just before I give it. We only gave 4 a day and now we're down to 2 a day. I hope it works for you both hun. I know it sounds dramatic, but it really has changed our lives for the better!!

PP i wouldn't add to pre-prepped feeds as it is a thickener and they go all funny once its been added and left standing. It should be added as it is needed ie. just before they have that bottle. Also it dissolves better in warmed feeds. We used to put it into the powder dispenser with the ready portioned formula and just add it all to the water when we needed it. Hope this helps!

I meant id prep the feed then when its needed warm it and add the gaviscon then lol :)

I have given gaviscon in a sying.... but I dont know if yours is different.

Elliot only has 4 bottles a day now anyway-so use the 2 sachets needed per bottle. We are now putting the bottles of pre boiled cooled water in fridge, then adding formula and gaviscon to the bottle after we've warmed it up.

keely.

Ollie had a sachet in each bottle. I'm hoping now he's on his new milk we won't need to use it anymore x
