hi everyone, I was hoping someone might be able to give me their experience.

Sophia is just over 7 months and we have been BLW since she was 6 months. And since she was 6 months and 1 week she has been waking in the night once minimum and more likely 2 or 3 times, seemingly VERY hungry (eating my shoulder as soon as I pick her up). She has caught on to BLW really well and just recently she has started to eat a fair amount (still not loads) anyway the last few days I have been struggling to get much breastmilk into her at all during the day. She just faffs around on the boob. But she is still waking up every night (bear in mind that I was incredibly lucky in that she slept through teh night 7-7 from 8 weeks old and has never woken even during growth spurts).

Today I skipped her solid lunch to try to get her take a breastfeed but she still just isn't interested!

Any ideas? :flower:

It is different I know as I work so don't see La all day but she is so uninterested in milk during the day now... she takes it all at night. Even if she's had no solids she will wait for bedtime to tank up and then eat through the night. She is having mashed food from a spoon as well as feeding herself so we're not BLW but she just doesn't want milk in the day anymore. I know La is reverse cycling - read about it on kellymom.

thanks Becstar, I'll take a look at kellymom

Don't mean to hijack, but I had my first 'no mummy' to milk today... We're not weaning for a while yet, but H fed crazy through the night, then 45 mins first thing this morning and well over an hour just now (normally 15mins every 3 hours). Will take myself off to kellymom, but will watch with interest

It cerainly sounds like Sophia could be "reverse cycling". She is totaly distracted during the day so she only manages a few minutes at a time on the boob. SO I am going to invest in a better blackout blind for her nursery so that it is dark during the day to see if that helps.
I must admit the sleepless nights are killing me, I am not brave enough to sleep with her in my bed (nothing against it, but hubby is a right fidget arse!) but I am such a light sleeper that i think I would get less sleep. Lets just hope it is a phase!
