This is the first time we have rented, and we are due our first rental inspection by the letting agency.

What should I expect from this inspection? Do they inspect every square inch of your home? What do they look for?

I won't be in when they are doing it, as I have an appointment in town. They say they will just let themselves in.

Also, only been here 3 months-are 3 monthly inspections the norm?

Thanks

Yeah they'll just have a look around make sure things aren't broken or destroyed. X

I'm also private rent and get an inspection every 6 months, the lady is here quite literally 5 minutes looks in every room and leaves again! Seems pointless after I've spent days scrubbing the place!

with my inspections i basically give them a piece of paper with all the problems on (usually A4 size as its a dump). and they take photots of the problems. make sure ive not knocked any walls down or painted it in minging colours etc. x

It's really just a cursory glance around the place to make sure the walls aren't falling down and you're not filthy!

Great idea writing a list Kaybea!

I have a list of stuff they need to fix here too, so will do that.
Thanks everyone x
