If I go back to work, would prob go back 3 days, taking home approx £200 per week. My OH earns approx £9,000 per annum (family business - long story)

Is it worth my while going back, would I still be entitled to some WTC / CTC?

Would you need to pay for childcare when you are working??

If so, prices vary, but ours is £43 for 8am-5pm so 3 days would be £130 a week - dont think it sounds like it would be worth going back to work at all!!

You might get some benefits but not sure....:flower:

your joint income would take you over the working tax credit threshold so you would only get child tax credit but might get help towards childcare costs if you have them.
Try entitledto.com or HMRC tax credit calculator as they will give you a good estimate.

I don't have to pay for childcare, but I want her to mix wth other children so would be putting her in nursery one day a week. Maybe I would be better off only going to work two days a week, taking home approx £140 per week?

^^ You'd still be about £100 a week better off then... Or £160 a week if you work the three days and only pay 1 day childcare, So yes i'd say its worth it, Not sure if you'd get tax credits, they could tell you if you ring them though
